Use this forum to post your ideas about how we can rebuild the party. The best ones as voted by the community may be incorporated in the plan we deliver to candidates for RNC Chairman.
And check out the most popular ideas to date...

Reach out to Ron Paul and the Campaign for Freedom (http://ideas.rebuildtheparty.com/pages/general/suggestions/65339)

The younger generation is overwhelmingly turning away from the social conservative platform perpetuated by what they see as "old, grumpy, white guys"
Instead they are turning by the thousands to people such as Ron Paul and his Campaign for Freedom to give them fresh perspective and a new outlook on the way a government should be run.
Ron Paul already has mobilized the younger generation through the use of the internet (just check out facebook and see who the most supported candidate was through the primaries)...
If the RNC ignores this youthful, strong, and passionate subset of the population, the party will increasingly become less relevant as these young people grow up.

Make room for libertarians (http://ideas.rebuildtheparty.com/pages/general/suggestions/65586)

Libertarians love Freedom in all its forms.
The message of Freedom brings us together and is all inclusive, whether it be:
Freedom of religion, The separation of church and state, The right to bear arms, Free trade, Market competition, Capitalism, The right to Life, The liberty to choose, Equality of opportunity, Protection of property rights, Strong national defense, Checks and Balances, Constitutionalism, Judicial restraint
...and on and on...
and allow all citizens and all nations those same Freedoms so long as it does not infringe upon my, your, or our collective Freedoms.

Small "c" conservatives (http://ideas.rebuildtheparty.com/pages/general/suggestions/64676)

The party must return to its roots of small government and personal freedom. The current platform of exclusion and moralism is unacceptable and will result in the destruction of the party.
The republican party should be full of fiscal conservatives of multiple religions, races, and sexual orientations, but the party excludes a majority of these people based on fake religious superiority.
In short, remove religious dogma from the party and many people my age will return. If you don't, we may be gone forever. Many voters 18-30 went to Obama in a landslide because of the religious right.

Step away from the religious right (http://ideas.rebuildtheparty.com/pages/general/suggestions/65293)

Please tone down the religious right endorsements. I realize they're a strong part of the Republican "base", but that obviously didn't work in the recent presidential election and that group is starting to fade into the background. In supporting them so vehemently, the Republican party implicitly excludes a larger group of diverse moderates. The moderate undecided voters were the ones who swayed this election, not the people who were going to vote Republican/Democrat anyway. The Republicans should stand for a country where you're free to decide whatever religion you want rather than implying you must be a white, Christian, pro-life person to be a true American. It doesn't work anymore. Values yes! High horse, holier than thou, no.

So vote early! Vote often!

Have your say in how the wreckage that represents the GOP is reshaped into the Republican Party of tomorrow!

Just asking questions.

Sure you were. But subtextually you are saying something else entirely.

Amirite?

Of course he was, Gan. Using subtexts is one of the ways you can insinuate things about people or make fun of them.

I think it is wonderful that the Republican Party cares about your ideas.

Sure you can. Even if they're leading.

Those are good ideas for the GOP - I hope it does move in that direction.

Of course, I'm also not opposed to rounding up all the religious conservatives, packing them into rocket ships that look just like DC-8s, but with rocket engines instead of wings, and dropping them in volcanoes.

+10 points if you get the reference. :-p

I don't think we have anything to worry about. The usual mouth pieces are advocating moving further to the right and hyper-partisanship.

I hope they continue to put up Palin and Palin-like candidates. I hope they back candidates that make Palin look like a centrist.

As that happens, you'll see real conservatives jumping ship in droves ... and maybe down the road we'll have a viable third party.

If they put up Palin in 2012 it's almost assuring my vote goes to Obama (if he is somewhat moderate this term) or the Libertarian candidate.

Would I be dismissed or suspended from the R-team cheerleaders if I said I voted for Obama? Hypothetically of course.

I believe in the R-Team TOS you would have to surrender your badge and secret decoder ring. You can keep the Tshirt to remind you of what you used to belong to. Unless the wife hid that too.

Blasphemy!

What error mesage are you getting?

I'm getting the standard "You must be signed in" message which is requisite so FlickR would not nuke all the pics (I had to restrict access for the protection of little people's eyes and minds).

Actually ... it was funny considering the reality of the election.

"Nailin Paylin" was launched on the internet ... the McCain/Palin campaign bought advertising.

FUCK WHERE'S MY T-SHIRT

But seriously did anyone really think McCain had a chance after Palin... who now won't shut the fuck up. She's really pissed me off as a Republican.
