View Full Version : What do other members of the PC think your party affiliation is?
Alright, I figured I'd ask this question a slightly different way, not what party do you identify with, but what do you think other PCers think of you when you post.

People almost definitely think I'm a liberal because I voted for Obama, but my views are normally more in line with conservatives.

I'd hope people wouldn't think i'm a liberal cuz I voted for Obama. :) However I don't really post enough political shit to be labelled anything, except by maybe PB who calls everyone who disagrees with anything he says a liberal.
I guess i'm a moderate... I agree with some liberal ideals and some conservative ideals.
I read the poll before the post.. the answer is obviously liberal not conservative.
Some people rightly identify me as a libertarian, but the caustic reactionary right here likes to pretend I'm a liberal since I can't stand the contemporary Republicans.
Its amazing that you think people continue to consider you at all after seeing you propping up your own discussions with an alternate account.

I self-identify as a liberal, so I'm sure that's how others see me.

I'm sure people think I'm a liberal, and I mostly am, but I lean toward the middle in fiscal matters.

I disagree with CT being seen as conservative.
I think she's moderate with a conservative lean at times, but for the most part moderate.

Thanks Narcissiia. That's how I see myself as well, but I know many just automatically throw me on the conservative side.

I don't post much on political threads, but I'm more moderate. I lean towards conservative but on certain issues I'm liberal.

Social issues.
I would categorize him as being a Republican though, since ultimately those social issues don't seem to affect the way he votes on a national scale (though I recall Gan saying he voted for certain Democrats on a local scale).
I don't think Gan has drank the kool-aid, like say, CRB has. But I definitely think he's in the right wing. To be frank, I hope more of the Republican party becomes that type of right-winger, where the focus is on fiscal responsibility and not legislating morality, etc.
I would consider myself to be very liberal, except I am for lower taxes, I like to help those who help themselves, am against abortion, I voted for McCain, and I am registered Republican.
What are you moderate about? I am just curious.
Gay Marriage
Abortion
Probably the largest two social issues on any ballot.

Pretty sure I'm considered a liberal and that's fine.

Riiight.
[EDIT]Image removed so Gan can read his logic problems.
They go to you not being a social conservative ... I don't think they mean anything to the economic aspect. Witness all the anti gay marriage prolife Democrats in the Deep South who you'd still call liberal. It certainly doesn't change your voting or attempts to rationalize those social conservative issues.
And you break out the .jpeg's

I was going to reply "and 2000" but I wonder how many people on the board are still here from then. Also the board didn't have a poll feature then.

I'm probably viewed as a conservative which is how I lean but I'm pretty moderate nowadays. My posting in '04 was over the top for Bush but I chalk it up to being young and surrounded by Penn State liberals who fawned over who is probably my most hated candidate ever (John Kerry).
I voted for McCain but I like Obama as a person and think he can be a good leader. I just disagree with his economic positions.

Gan, I still have my reservations about him/her/it (I honestly don't know which one) based on the fact that it didn't really ever just say "Yeah I did a dumb thing. Sorry. Won't be doing it again", and instead just continued to argue the fact that it was rightly justified in its actions. However...

In 04 I just thought you were an ass who liked to piss off both sides. I didn't believe you were a conservative because of the books you read. Didn't peg you as liberal though either.

Well, in '04 I was 21 years old and in the infantry. You're lucky I read @ all.
Despite being a fairly liberal people ideologically, I don't identify with any one party because they both have their pluses and they both can be fucking stupid.
It just so happens that the Republicans have been especially stupid the last few years. We'll see what the democrats do now that they are in power.

In 2004 I thought myself to be an independent, despite the fact that I was often labeled as a liberal.
I still recall defending the idiotic pandering that Kerry did when he dressed up and went hunting in order to "prove" he wouldn't restrict guns.
In 2008, I definitely think of myself as a liberal, and try not to defend dumb ass moves by either parties.
I suspect that aside from CRB -none of us are 100% the party line on every single topic.
