Donations from europeans using prepaid untraceable cash credit cards. That we'll never know about because Obama turned off credit card address verification for donations and backed out of public financing so doesn't have to provide an audit.

It couldn't have anything to do with people hating George Bush and McCain picking a questionable running mate... could it?

Oh, right. Because Peruvian shamanism didn't bend space-time to make that happen in the first place.

I still dont understand why people were hatin on Palin. How come a conservative female in the public spotlight was giving all the media itchy crotch? And what was with the focus on her expensive department store clothing? Isnt Obamawife doing the designer label thing? And the media is all like oooohaaaah, so beautiful. When really she looks like a large gangly mastiff/girraffe with no fur or spots.

She was wholly underinformed/undereducated for the position she was applying for. I don't care that she was conservative or female. Why were conservatives so gung ho to support this woman? No abortion, rah rah?

And what was with the focus on her expensive department store clothing?

I didn't care - wasn't my money she was spending. But some who had contributed to the campaign may have been interested to know where that money was going.

Isnt Obamawife doing the designer label thing?

1. She wasn't running for office.
2. I've yet to hear of her clothing being purchased by contributors to the campaign. If so, I may be less than pleased to know my contribution may have funded one pair of shoes. Then again, if she showed up in a $20 WalMart dress to meet the queen, people would be asking "What was she THINKING?"

And the media is all like oooohaaaah, so beautiful. When really she looks like a large gangly mastiff/girraffe with no fur or spots.

I see.

How was she undereducated? She wasnt a lawyer. Is that what you mean? As far as her education goes, it was really down to earth. I was in Alaska when she started to run and I was almost certain she would turn a whole lot of democrats to her side...like she did locally by bringing down some corporate lobby interest groups.

Going from governor to vice-president isnt all that unusual. I like the governor mindset of doing things. I like to see a local person go big like that. It keeps things fresh.

Oh yeah and...no abortion. Rah rah.

God knows I'll probably regret posting this, but I believe the point was Sarah Palin has a Bachelor's degree. In Journalism. And had to go to 5 or 6 different schools to even get that. She was governor of one of, if not the smallest states (population wise) in the country, and only for a very short time at that.

Short answer: The mainstream media is extremely liberal and anything a conservative does is pure evil, and everything a liberal does is perfect and awesome, even if it's the same thing they ripped on the conservative for.

You know how obama won the election? He got more votes than the other guy. Doesn't really matter how he did it- it's politics- that's the point.

In politics, everybody cheats, everybody lies, everybody steals, everybody breaks rules. The guy who does it better and doesn't get caught wins.

And not for nothing, but instead of bitching about the media, maybe the party should do something about it. They're supposed to be good at this kind of stuff.

Nah, you won't regret it.

The fact that Palin got different parts of her undergrad degree at several different schools shows how well rounded her education is. As JihnasSpirit said, that made her down to earth. Palin isn't snooty like some overly educated people who read a lot tend to be. I bet she doesn't even know what arugula is.

It has nothing to do with her degree or lack thereof. It had to do with her intense lack of knowledge on domestic and global policies.

I have no problem with that, so long as they are studied and know what the hell they're talking about.

Pfft. Sounds weak.

So you would have rather had someone with prior connections and a long history in Washington. Someone who has had time to schmooze their way up the popularity ladder and suck a few cocks?

Vote yes to cocks and no to schmoozing. Vote for Sarah Palin.

Oooh, I'm marketing that. Nobody steal my idea.

I didnt determine my opinion of her from the interviews during all that nonsense. I liked her as a governor first. Then as a fellow mom, a gun owner, a supporter of the troops and a pro-lifer. A year after that it became popular to laugh at Tina Fey jokes (who is funny but largely irrelevant). I still like Palin for all of my original reasons. I think she represents a huge and unrepresented genre of America and I definately will support anything she chooses to do in the future. I like that she is sympathetic to the Alaskan Independence Party, who's motto is 'gun control is hitting your target'.

I hope that clears things up. I never cared what it was popular to think, and never will. I dont care that she is the coolest kid on the block. What she stands for tells me she deserves a higher office.

I didnt determine my opinion of her from the interviews during all that nonsense.

Aren't interviews typically a good way for those of us who have never heard of a candidate to get an impression? Obviously, there's more necessary, but given her performance, I can't say that I would have been impressed unless perhaps she was my doppelganger (politically speaking). Even then, it would be questionable.

I liked her as a governor first. Then as a fellow mom, a gun owner, a supporter of the troops and a pro-lifer.

"Mom" or "Dad" isn't anything I feel necessary for the resume of a politician. If it were, for equality's sake, Obama has children as well. I don't believe he's anti-troop either, though he's much more anti-war than she. Which leaves us with "gun owner" and "pro-lifer". I don't believe guns were ever a large part of the debates, and I am not anti-gun, nor do I believe Obama is (though his stance on control is stronger than mine). I'm anti-stupid-people-with-guns. Unfortunately, no one has come up with an accurate test for "Will you get drunk and shoot your buddy/wife/friend while showing off your new toy?" Pro-life is an unsurprising stance for a Republican. I'm more pro-reduce-need-for-abortions (via education, birth control, and yes, even abstinence). So, this shows nothing to differentiate her from almost any other "conservative" candidate.

A year after that it became popular to laugh at Tina Fey jokes (who is funny but largely irrelevant).
Highly irrelevant to my voting. But freaking funny.

I still like Palin for all of my original reasons. I think she represents a huge and unrepresented genre of America and I definately will support anything she chooses to do in the future. I like that she is sympathetic to the Alaskan Independence Party, who's motto is 'gun control is hitting your target'.

Huh. And what would you say if Clinton was "sympathetic" to "Get New York out of the United States"? (Please note: I don't give really care which states secede other than my own. And Michigan because we own property there)

I hope that clears things up. I never cared what it was popular to think, and never will. I dont care that she is the coolest kid on the block. What she stands for tells me she deserves a higher office.

You don't care what's popular, but you really like the coolest kid. And you will support her whatever she does, even shooting for the second in command of a country where she's "sympathetic" to those in her own state who want to secede, and is woefully unknowledgeable on both foreign and domestic policy.

Got it.

Truer words were never spoken. Too many people emphasize "qualifications" to the exclusion of ideology. A person can learn new things, but it is almost impossible to change a person's heart. Ideology is more important than qualifications for a job like president, which is why Palin is particularly suited for the job.

Palin couldn't name specific Supreme Court opinions that she disagreed with and she didn't understand immediately what Charlie Gibson was referring to with the phrase "The Bush Doctrine" (even though Gibson was actually wrong on what it was at the time). Obviously she is unqualified to be the Vice President because a leader needs to know Supreme Court decisions by name and must know what the media-coined "Bush Doctrine" means.

I voted for McCain for McCain. Palin did not make me any more or less likely to vote for him. I wish he picked Mitt Romney but whatever. The media was extremely unfair to her.

You made a statement about never hearing about a governor meeting before deployment, I gave a relevant though not exact example - highly relevant considering that Vilsack was (for a very short time) a candidate for president.

Color me confused about what you're trying to say.

It's cool! Of course it's awesome when those guys do something for the troops. You dont need me to tell you that. And I dont know anything about Vilsack.

Also, if you dont understand how my governor wins because seceding from the union is 160YEARSAGOAWESOME maybe I fail at funny.
