This is my first political thread in years, so I figured I'd go against the grain of the current trend and open a topic for discussion that doesn't revolve around a specific issue or event.

The question I pose to you is this: Is it possible in this day and age in America for a politician to rise high enough to make a presidential bid without getting dirt on their hands?

My own opinion is no. I believe every aspect of the system has some level of corruption in it ranging the whole spectrum of severity. Without pandering to someone unsavory or doing something that doesn't sit right in the bid for "truth, justice, and the American way", you will run into an impass long before you reach a level of government that will allow you to even be a consideration as a candidate.

A better question is, do you always wash your hands after you pee?

If yes, is it because you always pee on your hands?

I subscribe to the George Carlin train of thought. I wash my hands if I shit on them.

Edit to add:

In case there is any confusion: Yes. I am joking. That's disgusting.

I thought this was a poll on washing your hands after pissing. I am disappointed.

Pssht. It's in the politics folder. I don't usually get THAT off topic...at least not in the first post.
