Independent Group Raises McCain Health Issue

In an attempt to intensify voter doubts about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's readiness for office in advance of Thursday's vice presidential debate, the California Nurses Association has launched an ad raising questions about John McCain's health.

The ad went up in six battleground states -- Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Colorado, and Missouri -- this morning, and will run for two days with a low six-figure buy behind it, according to sources familiar with the spot.

That relatively meager amount of spending means that the ad is meant to be more provocative than persuasive, aimed at driving a discussion -- publicly and privately -- about McCain's health. And, the content is decidedly provocative.

I think it's unethical for medical professionals to express an opinion on a patient they've never treated.

I personally believe that if McCain is elected, Palin will probably become the president before the natural end of McCain's term, but I'm not a medical professional, which makes it okay for me to express that opinion.

Right because the best medical care the United States has to offer can't keep one septigenarian alive for 4 years.

I am so making an Obama ad, with him in the crosshairs of a gun and Klansmen burning crosses.

I wish organizations would stop using fear to try to elect candidates.

So I guess making a video of Obama speaking over scenes from the L.A. riots is out?

Wouldn't it have to be a biden video to count here? Or are we just going for general fear mongering-ness?

Well, I was just going for the general fear factor...

but it was a McCain video, so I figured an Obama video would work in response. "Don't vote for Obama because black people will loot your homes!!!1111)

Yeah but the premise is that mccain is one heart beat from death, so Palin will take over, and it had all the soundbites of what an evil bitch she is.

How about a sniper soundbite of Obama with XX eyes overlaid with messages about how Biden will crash all your wives cars to kill your children, fund stem cell research, and insult the handicapped?
