View Full Version : Godless Liberals Attacking Palin About Witch Remarks

You can tell that the Democrats are running out of ammunition when they start attacking someone about her preacher. I learned about the latest attacks this morning, and I've spent all day piecing together the story from the articles partially quoted below.

In June, Palin told how a visiting pastor from Kenya had foretold she was destined for greater things.

She told other members of the Assembly of God church in her home town of Wasilla, Alaska, that Thomas Muthee had laid his hands on her head and prayed over her when they met in 2005.

Muthee had visited her church in Alaska in his role as the founder of the Word of Faith Church, also known as the Prayer Cave.

But it has now emerged that he was once involved in driving out a woman from her home who local villagers believed was a witch.

Muthee wanted to get control over the town of Kiambu, Kenya - a place just outside of Nairobi. Not content to set up a church and slowly gain the trust of the local inhabitants, Muthee decided to get publicity and gain political power through a piece of cruel theater.

Muthee chose a local woman named Mama Jane who happened to work as a fortune teller. Mama Jane had never caused much trouble before, but she was an important target for Muthee, because she was a close associate of town’s leaders. Muthee accused Mama Jane of being a sorceress - a witch who was engaging in spiritual warfare to curse to town of Kiambu.

Muthee’s proof of Mama Jane’s witchcraft? There had been three car accidents in the neighborhood of the clinic where Mama Jane worked. That, said Muthee, was sure evidence that Mamma Jane was a witch. So, Muthee got the local population in a panic, and sent three police officers into Mamma Jane’s. They fired their guns, killing one of Mama Jane’s pets.

Then, they arrested Mama Jane and threw her into jail. Muthee made his demand: “Mama Jane either gets saved and serves the Lord or she leaves town!”

When Mama Jane was finally released from jail, she fled town, fearing for her life.

This is the kind of activity that the Wasilla Assembly of God praises when it says of Muthee, “He has established and pastors hundreds of churches in Kenya.” Typical of those who use witch hunts as instruments of power, Muthee is a bully and a thug.

Sarah Palin is a product of an extreme fringe of the American Evangelical movement known variously as the Third Wave Movement, also known as the New Apostolic Reformation, or as Joel's Army, a part of what is called Dominionism. Until 2002 according to their own website, Palin was a member of Wasilla Assembly of God with Senior Pastor Ed Kalnins. Online video clips of Palin speaking from the pulpit of this church are revealing. Curiously, between the time this article was begun on September 9th and the 11th, the video was removed without explanation:

As one researcher familiar with the history of the Third Wave Movement or Dominionism describes, ‘The Third Wave is a revival of the theology of the Latter Rain tent revivals of the 1950s and 1960s led by William Branham and others. It is based on the idea that in the end times there will be an outpouring of supernatural powers on a group of Christians that will take authority over the existing church and the world. The believing Christians of the world will be reorganized under the Fivefold Ministry and the church restructured under the authority of Prophets and Apostles and others anointed by God. The young generation will form ‘Joel’s Army’ to rise up and battle evil and retake the earth for God.’4

The excesses of this movement were declared a heresy in 1949 by the General Council of the Assemblies of God, and again condemned through Resolution 16 in 2000.

Palin's speech on June 8, 2008 at the church was to honor graduates from the church's Masters' Commission. The church's regular pastor says the Commission believes American evangelicals will take refuge in Alaska in the coming "End of Days."

This makes me really mad. I was so upset that I didn't even enjoy going to the Sizzler after church. Palin is a good Christian, and it's shameful that liberals are trying to tarnish her just because of her religious affiliations.

Please please please no one reply to this or any other post he makes. If we stop feeding him I promise he'll go away.

I certainly hope this is a gag, and not some serious post that stumbles blindly past the irony of the authors statement. Honestly, how can you cry foul about the Rats as you put it faulting Sarah Palin's associates when we literally had weeks upon weeks of focus put on Reverand Wright, and Flager.

Hope the hypocracy gives you gout.

I'm sorry... Domination Theology is far scarier than Liberation Theology. If one's fair game... so is the other.

I almost forgot to add that this attempted smear of Palin may actually backfire by clearing up a question that many of us originally had (http://forum.gsplayers.com/showpost.php?p=792547&postcount=62) about how Palin chose the names of her children. I was originally worried that Palin intentionally chose the names for her children based on the names of witches on the teevee. This new revelation about antagonism between Palin's church and witches clears it all up.

I think that's the point the poster behind ClydeR is trying to make.

Lol ... No, Palin is the Northern most answer to trailer park trash hitting the lottery. Like fantasy geeks that name their kids after LotR characters, the Palins had brain farts and settled on their favorite televised "sport" with Track and Bristol (I don't buy that she's named after a bay) and later resorted to their favorite television shows with Piper and Willow ... after that it wasn't easy to not be obvious, so they named the last kid Trig. It's a clever rouse ... make them think you named the downs baby after the abbreviated form of trigonometry to reflect your hoped for the kid, but the reality of is that they were just thinking of their favorite arms component.

Actually they named the first kid Track because he was born during track season. No joke.

I never said it did, although it doesn't exactly bode well for her decision making abilities.

But naming your child after a bird shows great skills in decision making!

What people name their children is such a non-issue. I cannot believe it is even worth debating, save for laughs.
