The ill-defined protest "group" known as Anonymous, famous both for their campaign against Scientology and their strange protest activities, has hacked Gov. Sarah Palin's private email account and posted some of the contents online.
Internet "griefing" is a key component of the activities of Anonymous, and this is no exception. The full text of two private emails, as well as the screenshot of Palin's inbox and some of her family photos were added to the site wikileaks. The purported reasoning is that they are blowing the whistle on Palin using private email addresses for public business.

Hopefully, they will catch these hippies and put them away. In Alaska, it's a 5 year prison sentence.

Five stars indeed.

Not hacking, social engineering thanks to shitty Yahoo security.
Predefined required security questions based on easily found or gotten information are a joke.
I remember "hacking" into people's emails this way 10 years ago. I'd see what their hotmail security question was, then get random people throughout the day to talk up the mark in casual ways trying to learn things like where they were born, etc. Whatever the question was. Then open their account, and send emails to their friends/fuck buddies saying stuff. Really, not hard, and certainly not hacking.

Luckily we don't have to worry about this happening to McCain.

In addition to it not being illegal then AFAIK as the law hadn't caught up to the technology - statue of limitations.

LOL
Winner.

I agree not hacking.
However, one of the most popular ways to "hack" a company these days is physically walking in and talking your way onto a computer. It works well, just need some charisma and an ounce of knowledge of the company.
We hire intrusion experts, and while they couldn't get into our systems or hack our firewall, a dude walked right in and with a few short words was on one of our PCs. Somebody even logged in for him.

Wouldn't 0-9 make more sense than 1-10?
Yeah, probably.
Fair for fans of 0, sure. But technically 0 is not an integer.

Anonymous are anarchists typically... libertarians at best. I'd hardly call them liberal.

I saw that movie on the teevee Sunday night. It was a seditious attempt to portray President Bush as an authoritative megalomaniac. And it glorified terrorists. Hollywood should not produce films like that.

My favorite is those that walk in as fire inspectors and walk off with PC's.

There's not a firewall in the world that can't be taken down easily with a couple of computers at most, if you know what you're doing. These days, the only reason to mess with a firewall is to take it down (DDOS). Otherwise, it's just easier to use SQL injection or XSS to get what you want.

Yup, social engineering. Lots of good books you can read detailing the exploits of "hackers" and how they did it, in person or over the phone.
