View Full Version : No Attacks From Palin/McCain
Anyone notice the running mate introduction speeches had absolutely 0 attacks on Obama, they didn't even say his name.
Contrast that with the Obama/Biden introduction speeches a week ago, which were almost all "Bush McCain this and that."
Just pointing it out.

Are you serious? If they didn't have any attacks there, it's only because they used them all up in the last three months of kindergarten-style, "Obama is a poopoo head" bullshit.
And Obama has been farting flowers, yes yes, I know.
But nevertheless... the speeches were entirely different.

I know!
Even Obama said of Wright:
"His comments were not only divisive and destructive but I believe they end up giving comfort to those that prey on hate."
After half of his life with Wright, Obama finally realized what any average person could see in a 2 minute video. Now that is judgment!

Once onstage, together with Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, Palin talked about what women expect from women leaders; how she took charge in Alaska during a political scandal that threatened to unseat the state's entire Republican power structure, and her feelings about Sen. Hillary Clinton. (She said she felt kind of bad she couldn't support a woman, but she didn't like Clinton's "whining.")

Maybe she was quoting the liberal rag "The Nation" (http://www.thenation.com/doc/20080317/cockburn).
"The Clinton campaign whines that the press is being partial to Obama. The New Republic takes 5,160 words on this theme from Sean Wilentz, who chews on the matter with such fury that one must surmise that the Clinton campaign had promised to make him Librarian of Congress, or some kindred dignity. Less whiningly, since it's winning, the Obama campaign spluttered about the Clinton campaign circulating a photo of him in a turban and what looks to me like a nurse's white uniform, though apparently it's Somali ceremonial rig."
Just saying.

Who knows? Maybe she was. Unfortunately, true Clinton supporters won't take too kindly to that.

They should take much more "kindly" to a magazine (and organizations) that supports Obama doing the same, or to the way Obama railroaded her at the DNC Rules and Bylaws meeting (denying FLA and MI full delegates, stealing some of Clinton's from MI in a back room deal, and later recognizing 100% after her defeat), or his not vetting her for the VP slot. But she was "just a girl" to him, after all.

Mmmm mmm! I love hyperbole with syrup!
Now back to the point...
And calling her a whiner would win them over? I mean if all that you said was true (which it's not), do you think you'd win over her supporters by dissing their candidate?

How can you take such a position considering all the "dissing" that went on within the Democratic party? Obama disses hillary big time, Biden dissed obama, and yet they're all working like crazy to make up.
On the other hand, you have a minor comment that isn't likely to ever get any mainstream news coverage saying something bad, and a speech just covered by everyone saying good things, and you can be secure in the knowledge that going forward it will be nothing but smiles and cheers for Hillary from the McCain campaign.
If you really feel that Palin's comment is enough to distance all of Hillary's voters, please explain the dynamic of the current internal Democratic party brokering?

Which parts, other then the flippant "just a girl" ending, are not true? Please explain.

I didn't just happen upon that article/video. It's going viral at several Democratic forums where a majority of true Clinton voters still frequent. It doesn't have to hit the mainstream news. Do you honestly think Clinton and her supporters wait for news reports on tv to find out what's going on within their own party? Small groups like P.U.M.A. don't just form because a couple of neighbors decided to get together. They grow through forums.
Who cares about dissing when it's one party going against each other to be the nominee? Is this a new thing to you? Did Bush not paint McCain as a coward to win the nomination in 2000? Did McCain hold a grudge? Did Dean against Kerry? In politics, you don't hold grudges. When you lose, you get behind the party that's more aligned with your views.(normally your own) With disgruntled Clinton supporters, it's about emotion. Republicans are trying to milk that emotion to get them to vote against their own interest. Fortunately, for them it's neither about issues nor is it even about women. It's about Clinton.
While it's true many are angry at Obama and the DNC for their own reasons, hearing the alternative call Clinton a whiner will force them to consider their interests. Since the majority of Hillary's disgruntled base are gay/lesbian/bi/trans and pro-choice, they will certainly notice Palin is the complete opposite with their issues.

And take away all your fun? Find it yourself. I posted an opinion based on what I've witnessed through the primaries. Never mentioned it being an undeniable fact, so I don't see why you're asking for sources.

When you post that a majority of the Clinton supporters are gay, it's not an opinion. It's bullshit you are trying to pass off as a fact to support your lame ass argument that now these supporters would never vote for McCain because Palin isn't like them.

You might want to correct yourself. I said the majority of her DISGRUNTLED supporters are gay/lesbian/bisexual/transexual AND pro-choice. I see what you did there, but nice try.
Actually, Kefka, anyone who programs will tell you that you should use "OR" not "AND" or you are saying they're all gay/bi/or trannys.

That's true, but I did add in majority, so I wasn't really speaking for all of them.
