I know specifics are different, but I think its relately fair to sum up McCain & Obama's energy stances like this

Obama: Wind, solar, water, hybrids, electric, corn ethanol.

McCain: Wind, solar, water, hybrids, electric, nuclear, clean coal, drill for more oil to help ease the transition.

I really don't see how Obama is going to win with the american people on this. Polls invariably show the majority in favor of more drilling, but mostly polls show the public wants everything to be on the table, and McCain has a bigger table.

If Obama is weak on one issue, so long as he flips on Iraq before the election which it looks like he'll do, it is on this issue. This is his achilles heal. If it comes to November with gas prices this high or higher and him still not being for drilling and a GOP ad with him saying that high gas prices aren't a problem. He's toast.

Obama's Achilles heels are the Independents and Democrats who simply won't vote for the black guy, the military people who won't vote against the military guy (potentially solvable with Webb), and the Hispanic folks who aren't down with voting for the black guy (potentially solvable with Richardson... the bearded more manly Richardson).

This is minor in comparison.

I agree with your points on energy. We need all sources utilized while we make the transition to alternate sources.

If we do not use all sources available which businesses should we shut down? Which people should starve (or be malnourished) because of the rising cost of food? Many questions like these need answered before we cut coal, oil and nuclear from the mix.

The use of our arable lands and corn for fuel also needs addressed, as this contributes to rising food costs (and could lead to further world hunger) We also need to end this $.51 per gallon ethanol subsidy. Ethanol can stand on its own as a product.

After all the talk of "Bring the troops home!", Obama voted "Yes" for the funding Thursday, which passed 92-6 in the Senate.

It is all about race to you, eh?

There are many, many reasons to vote for a candidate, or to choose not to support one. I would agree that a small percentage of people may use race in their choice, but the majority of people that will not vote for your candidate have a multitude of reasons not to do so.

His lack of experience, his poor judgement, and lack of specifics in his overly idealistic policy goals are a few that strike me without having to even ponder the situation.

Are you just trolling?

Not trolling. I personally believe race is his biggest Achilles heel.

if he could win Iowa's caucus, race isn't a big deal (although...caucuses are undemocratic and favor the vocal minority so...)
