oldanforgotten

In true Mabus and ClydeR style reporting:
(CNN) – John McCain issued a promise Tuesday that may cause a bit of unrest with a broad swath of voters:
He'll veto every single beer?
In a slip of the tongue while railing against excessive earmarks at the National Small Business Summit in Washington, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee inadvertently pledged to veto the popular alcoholic beverage.
I will use the veto as needed. I will veto every single beer — bill with earmarks," he said, as rumblings from the crowd could be heard. "And every single bill that we have come across my desk I will make them famous. I will veto them, you will know their names."

Clearly, a vote for McCain represents a large step backwards to the days of prohibition, bringing us 90 years back in time as a country.

Heh, he had the beer on the brain. Or in his belly.

Senior moment. PB, I'm sure, will understand.

What was he actually supposed to say? I'm not coming up with anything that sounds like beer which he should be vetoing?

He corrected himself right after to say bill.

Well, Obama = Jimmy Carter (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/06/mccain-compares.html). That's what McCain said yesterday.

You act as if that's going to turn away voters in droves.

It should.

Don't you remember the '70s? Obama probably doesn't, since he wasn't even old enough to vote for Carter when Carter was elected. Let me remind you. We had both recession and inflation at the same time, we were an inch away from outright war with Iran, oil prices were shooting through the roof, and Carter was giving away our assets, namely the Panama Canal (where McCain was born).
I'd say that's enough to sour voters on a second Carter presidency.

That would destroy his wife's stock in Anheuser-Busch and her distribution business, Hensley & Co. which she is the Chair of.

Silly slip-up but it's an honest mistake, I did laugh though.
you ever think to say something and change the world halfway through but have already started saying it?
Like you start to say car but want it to be truck and you say cruck?
Bill + earmark

Someone did a stand up on this... I'll find the youtube on it later on today.

... bringing us 90 years back in time as a country.
At least gas would be cheaper so we could afford the illegal hooch.

Obama is older than I am ... inconsequential.
You're speaking of issues Carter inherited outside of Iran ... and even then you're falling back on omission tactics.

Seriously, try saying "beer bill" that many times. Super-fastly.
Maybe he was just messing with the crowd. That'd be pretty cool. I dunno, if I fell half-asleep during a campaign speech "veto beer" would most likely wake me back up.
