And it appears that Obama has won the majority in Mississippi. Its not a winner take all state, so the 33 electoral votes will be allocated based on percentage.

Senator Obama now has a lead of 161 nonsuperdelegates. There are 485 left to be determined. This means that to catch up, Senator Clinton needs to win 66.6%* of the remaining regular delegates. In other words, Senator Clinton needs to average a 33 point victory in every state. One might think this would encourage her to back out now**!
*not accounting for in-state rounding of delegates and whatnot.
**not accounting for Senator Clinton not giving a shit about anything but her own aggrandizement.

Does it surprise you that he won Mississippi? Something like 50% of the population is black.

wrong. 36% or so. which gives it the largest percentage of blacks in resident population.
Then again, you're assuming that all black people vote for Obama.

Mississippi. United States, Mississippi? Earth? ...Milky Way?
Um. I basically made up my mind when he won S. Carolina. It was the same hazy beginning-to-believe feeling that one gets after watching The NYG defeat The Pats.
Well, I wonder if these closet racists will take their reverse psychology self-inclination all the way to the presidential election. That'd be pretty spiffy.

It's gonna be ugly if Obama wins the general election.
*I meant to the say the nomination, but that statement is no less true.

Good thing the Dem primary didn't count in florida. Do you how much money that saved us not having all of our state troopers setting up road blocks so black people couldn't get to the poils???? I dunno either but it's got to be a lot.

So...what's everyone's opinion on Obama Vs. McCain? Is there really anyway Obama could beat him in the GE? Obviously Clinton wouldn't stand a chance. Thoughts?

Good . . . black people
At least Xyelin isn't a racist.

I've thought a number of things about Xyelin... but that isn't one that particularly leaps forward.

Senator Obama would take it home. It may wind up close, but I think a lot of republicans feel Senator McCain is a weak candidate and end up staying home on election day. Senator Obama has serious grassroots mobilization happening as we have seen in voter turn out during these primaries. That plus the general feeling of a lack of true conservativism in the republican party makes me think Senator Obama will definitely win against Senator McCain.

Uh...
Racist people? (From both sides of the political aisle)

Many think that Obama is more dynamic than McCain and thus would attract more votes that were not issue based. Hillary has such a hate factor that she is self defeating automatically, thus any matchup against her would be at an advantage.

I disagree with the bolded part simply because there is a part of the R base that will get out and vote where nobody else will. Historically R base voters have always turned out where D base voters have not. Gore and Kerry found that out the hard way. The difference here is that if Obama gets the nod, that means the D base will actually have a motivation to actually vote - which has been demonstrated in primary participation thus far.

Again, you know nothing about politics. I think the Republicans are going to win at this rate, especially if the nomination process continues to be so divisive.

I think you're just tripping. As long as there is a nomination that doesn't involve anything shady then there will be enough time for the republicans to be even more divisive.
Don't you worry.

I find that doubtful as it's two different situations.
But alright.

I think the Republicans will win if Hillary runs. I have no clue if it is Obama v McCain. It could go either way.
