Washington State Cheats Mike Huckabee

The Huckabee campaign is upset by what appears to be an attempt to steal the delegates of Washington State for McCain. The Washington State Republican Party counted 87% of the votes on Saturday and then decided to quit counting (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/politics/2004175998_elexfolo11m.html) when John McCain was leading by less than two percentage points. When the Huckabee campaign complained, the party said it would count some more of the votes and would try to "close as we can to 100 percent." As close as they can?

Huckabee campaign chairman Ed Rollins released a stinging press release (http://www.mikehuckabee.com/?FuseAction=Newsroom.PressRelease&ID=614). All Huckabee wants is to have all the votes counted.


All Republicans should unite to demand an honest accounting of the votes, so that Republicans can have full confidence in the results, and full confidence in the eventual Republican nominee. As I said, we are prepared to go to court, and we are also prepared to take our case all the way to the Republican National Convention in September.


“Our cause is just. We must reemphasize the sacred American principle that all ballots be counted in a free, fair, and transparent manner.”

McCain will probably win. There is no reason why the party should cheat to hand him the nomination.

Yea, probably should at least count to 99% if only a 2% margin at 87%.

Anything that cheats Mike Huckabee is awesome... though, he'd certainly be easier to defeat than McCain.
