Hey, guys, I'm an older GS Player that hasn't played or been on the boards in a while due to financial reasons, but I just got about 4-5 chapters into a new book I was reading and just HAD to tell someone about it.
Empire by Orson Scott Card
Card is normally a Sci-Fi guy but this book is far from science fiction. It's basically political science. So far, I've found it very well written and extremely frightening. Whether you're Right or Left (Wing, that is), I think you'll find this book very interesting.
BTW, if you get the chance to read it, I'd appreciate hearing what others think about it. I'm a former Marine, so, pretty obviously a conservative guy for the most part, and this book so far has me riveted, and quite a bit apprehensive. When you see how easy it would be for something like what's described to happen in real life, it's a little scary.
