A Missouri mother says she will do "whatever it takes" to stop former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee from becoming president, because he freed the man who went on to rape and murder her daughter, Carol Sue Shields (pictured).
"I can't imagine anybody wanting somebody like that running the country," Lois Davidson of Adrian, Mo., told the Blotter on ABCNews.com.
Wayne Dumond was initially sentenced to life plus 25 years for raping a 17-year-old Arkansas high school cheerleader. In 1999, a parole board voted to free Dumond, after then-Gov. Mike Huckabee announced his desire to see him released.

This is the one known weakness Huckabee has. I was wondering if it was going to come back in the press or not. The Arkansas Times article, by Murray Waas, is damned good. It lays out everything.
It's going to be on Good Morning America tomorrow. Going to be interesting to see how it affects the Republican primary.

You complain the republicans are too conservative and when one acts moderately you still complain. I thought most of you dems want all this criminals out of jail?
I'm objective mind you... I really don't give a fucking shit about it. (if I was king sex criminals would be executed and if it happens to my kids they will be executed)
I'd like to see is an overhaul of the prison and rehab system. Doubt it will happen in my lifetime.

I'm not a Dem ... but that's a blanket statement upon a blanket statement.
You'll find that most want social, economic, and racial disparities removed from the justice system. We don't want the OJs to walk simply because they have the disposable cash to buy the best morally bankrupt lawyers out there. We also don't want the everyday Joe serving a dime because he was caught with six nickle bags of skunk.
I doubt you'll find many people on any point of the political compass who feel that child molesters, rapists, and murderers should be up for any sort of parole ... let alone something along the lines of a governor's pardon.

Like the Dukakis "Willie Horton" story, I wonder if there's more to this than meets the eye.

Just because Huckabee is a religious zealot, doesn't make him a Conservative. His tax record, immigration record and over all social record leans him more liberal than conservative.

Now this is going to be good: Mike Huckabee as a Liberal.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand: Go.

This is hilarious. Huckabee campaigned to release this guy because he'd been reading a few conservative writers who said Clinton railroaded Drumond when he was governor, because the rape victim was a distant cousin of Clinton's. Huckabee was completely taken in by their claims, including the existence of DNA evidence that supposedly exonerated Drumond. (there wasn't any)
Seriously, read the article by Murray Waas. This has nothing to do with Huckabee being conservative or liberal...it has everything to do with him being an idiot and getting taken in by conservative whackjob conspiracy theory.

Mike Huckabee for the Democratic Presidential Nomination.
It's time for a change!
:snickers:
I see nothing wrong with a death penalty for rape... a quick one.
