My son. 5 years old, in pre-kindergarten at a private school...

Got a call from my son's teacher (two teachers in his class) who said he was involved in an incident today in the school cafeteria.

Seems a small group of boys decided to stand up on their chairs and moon, yes I said moon, the other students who were eating lunch. Evidentally the boys all thought it would be a lark to do so.

No ring leader has been identified yet. According to eye witness accounts my son was one of the 'followers' in this incident.

Either way this prompted a phone call from the teacher's office to me at work. I was afforded the opportunity to 'talk' with my son during this call and I spoke with him briefly admonishing what he did and reiterating the need to make good choices when behaving appropriately at school.

I'm still laughing at it though. The mrs. took it a little differently of course. And while mooning isnt something thats practiced at home, I find it kinda funny in an adolscent way. I'm still waiting for the phone call when he asks his teacher to pull his finger...

Its fun being a dad. :)

If your kid was in public school, they'd probably end up sending him to an alternative school for 3 months for it. Zero-tolerance has run amok in Houston school districts...smart decision sending him to private.

He should be labeled a sex offender and have to inform all the other residents of you neighborhood!

You laugh but it's not that far fetched. Doubly so if he was at a public school.

Another testament to how fucked up our public school systems are.

I'm glad we found a good private school for my son to go to. His teachers are top notch.

I wish I had stuff like this to look forward to. I have three daughters and I love them dearly but I'm not optimistic about the adolescent and teenage years.

First off let me share how disappointed I am that this thread wasn't about Reagan's comment when he found out Israel took out Iran's nuke facility.

Second off... if that happened here in a public school everyone one of them would have been expelled. :(

Yea, you might want to invest in a shotgun and some sort of tracking training. I suggest Malaysian.

Pfft, plenty of fun to be had with daughters. Many of them are more easily embarrassed than boys. And you get to threaten their dates! It's a parent's right. And if your daughter does something awesome, it's automatically more cool than if a boy did it because you won't be expecting it.

10 years from now he's getting a high 5 for this. ;)

And yes it will be brought up again when he brings dates home to meet the parents.

mine is 6 and in 1st grade..no moons yet but, all the boys in the class got together and went around flipping off everyone they could find (inclkuding teachers). Of course none of them knew what it was all about. And the wife got mad at me for telling him it wont be the last time you do that to a teacher ;)

That sucks, I got suspended for flipping a girl off in the 1st grade. My teacher saw me but I denied it until the very end.

Yeah, and if I remember rightly, the oldest one is gonna be a hottie, right?

Oh, and Gan, telling stories like this to future dates = the reason why us young people have anonymous sex with strangers we'll never have to introduce to our roommates, let alone our parents.

Just keep it in mind.
