War sucks. It's not easy and it damn sure ain't pretty. If you can't deal with someone in your face back at home then you damn sure can't deal with the shit when bullets are flying.

I'm mainly just puzzled as to the support he seems to be getting in the comments. Mind you, the person who sent it to me was mainly making fun of him and citing him as a counterpoint to my suggestion that maybe Republicans just had an easier time adapting to the current war.

I think it was more about supporting the soldier and not tearing into him publicly when he's already having a hard time. In times like that, better to stay with the idea that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
