I hope they now turn their attention to Mr. Burger, who has seriously done far worse.

..surely you jest.

but but... Bush lied and people died! And Cheney is the anti-christ! If we were to kill Cheney then there is no doubt (according to Maher) that people would stop dying.

(yes, this is sarcasm for any CIA types reading in)

You forgot that people wouldn't be needlessly dying tomorrow

What a douche.

The charges against Libby were so thin and contrived, this will certainly be appealed. To send someone to jail for 10 years for having a bad memory of conversations with multiple people is a fucking joke.

His appeal is already granted for not mentioning other elected officials.

Conspiracy theory says Libby media blitz makes the current administration "look" responsible.

Juror Explains Libby Verdict: They Felt He Was 'Fall Guy' (http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003554231)

A spokesman for the jury that convicted "Scooter" Lewis of four counts today of perjury and obstruction of justice today in a federal courtroom told reporters immediately afterward that many felt sympathy for Libby and believed he was only the "fall guy."

Denis Collins said that "a number of times" they asked themselves, "what is HE doing here? Where is Rove and all these other guys....He was the fall guy."

He said they believed that Vice President Cheney did "task him to talk to reporters."

He said, "some jurors said at one point, 'We wish we weren't judging Libby...this sucks." More than once he said many jurors found Libby "sympathetic."

Hey numb nuts.. if they found HIM guilty they obviously didn't think he was the fall guy for crimes he didn't commit.

Eh.. just because you find someone sympathetic and made out to be a fall guy doesn't change the fact that they believed he still broke the law.

Where did I say he was not guilty of perjury or that I disagreed with the verdict? Or are you responding to PB's post above mine?

I agree that he is a fall guy on the leak issue.

The part "we wish we weren't judging Libby" bothered me the most.

And I really hate the whole conservative vs. liberal thing on both sides.

I take it you see this as purely a liberal vs. conservative issue.

You are probably thinking something like “the liberals are trying to get us back for Clinton.”

But you have to admit both cases prove that lying under oath to a grand jury is not exclusive to either liberal or conservative leanings.

Don't ever guess what I'm thinking.. since you are most likely going to be wrong.

No, my comment was from your comment about disliking the conservative vs liberal... yet the only side you've ever been able to 'get' is the liberal side. Take a look at your posts in this folder and tell me where you actually sided with anything close to conservative or Republican.

Heres a blast from the past...

Well, after derailing xtc’s topic, I thought maybe it would be better to start a new one. Any moderators want to move it all here?

Liberal vs. Conservative. After thinking about it, I’ve come to some conclusions.

Liberal means generous. Conservative means stingy. People who are generous probably don’t have as much money as people who are stingy. Generous means selfless, stingy means selfish.

Everyone has all of these traits to varying degrees. Indeed, the basic mode of survival dictates selfishness. Where is the reward for selflessness? The reward is the benefit of all over the self. To move from a singular to a plural mindset, therefore, transcends base instinct and evolves us into our real potental.

Liberal = evolve. Conservative = survive.

Debate.

As to guessing what you’re thinking... you are very predictable I’m afraid. I’d tell you to never guess what you are thinking about me because you would be wrong, but I would be a hypocrite, because one day out of a year you just might be right.

LOL.

THAT is the only post you could come up with as an example of how you are so enlightened.. that you can view the political landscape from both views.. by calling Liberals generous and Conservatives stingy and selfish.

You're a fucking joke.
