You think I hate democracy? Take one good look in the mirror, Mr. Shiner.

I laugh at you, fully and without regret.

Get on our page. One where we have no fears.

It's sad you still believe it.. with the internet available for you to actually do research on it. Of course, when you have your homepage as www.conspiracytheoriesforretards.com I'm not surprised you still believe it.

More wish fantasy dreamworld tactics from you? You know, we are not that uncommon. Yet you seem to have this fear.

I have always laughed at you, heartily.

And who says your conspiracy filled pages are lacking fear. Since fear is the very material your pages are made from.

I am a registered independant now, I vote for those who represnt my views on how I think government should represent, regardless of party affiliation.

What say you, senior socialist?

I don't know why I pay for tickets to competitive sports when I could just watch Backlash vs. PB.

Dont confuse my independant voter stance with a get out of liberalism free card.

I will still bash a tree-hugger, with a branch from the very tree they cling to. I have just opened up the offender list to the religious freaks as well. Hug a tree, hug a cross... same difference to me.

You should give the tree branch a sniff test first.. it might have been one HN hugged.

It's not competitive. He throws out some wacko idea.. I pwn him.. he retorts with some stupid drug induced comeback and I make fun of him. He starts another thread on the ills of the capitalist system and we begin the cycle again.

Given your posting style I was sure it was satire.

The part I was unsure about was whether you knew when the new congress was seated.

(And while I am thrilled that the democrats won, the reason is that it shows, even in this age of carefully drawn political districts, the party in power can still lose if they fail to govern effectively. I also think that the democrats will now reveal themselves to have no ideas, just naked ambition to be in power - thus returning control of the congress to republicans 2008. I hope that the democrats are somehow able to field a viable presidential candidate so we can have divided government.)

Oil companies make 10% profit no matter what the price of gas.

Why would you ever be a registered independent? Now you can't vote in any primaries.

Agreed on one point, but pure fantasy on others. I mean, I could go around and just post “PWNT” in every thread then claim I “PWNT” everyone but that does not make it true.

I've wondered this too, but the only thing I can come up with is people hope their independent affiliation sends a message to both parties that neither party represents them. That doesn't mean the independent loses their core, just that they're trying to send a message. Gan can clear this up though since he's the independent.

Being an independant is still newto me, in as far as how their official political process works. I mean, I did not send the RNC a 'disconnect' notice, so I imagine I'll be invited to vote in their primary should I want to.

What I gathered by reading up on the independant webiste is that the true nature of an independant is not to be compromised by any party loyalty or function therein.

True, we dont have our own primary that I know of. However, by being on the registered independant list, I will have the attention of BOTH parties come next voting season which means whomever I get to speak with that calls, they get an earful of why or why not I'm voting for their candidates.

In the long run does it make a difference? Probably not mechanically, but it does make a difference on how both parties choose to stand with regards to moving more towards the middle.

Because I have issues I agree with that both parties represent in their platforms, I have the freedom to choose the candidates that best match those issue stances. And now I'm on a list that sends that message loud and clear to both the RNC and the DNC.

I have the freedom to choose the candidates that best match those issue stances.Look at it this way, would you rather vote for McCain or Bush? Would you rather vote for Kerry or, I don't know, ANY Dem from '04 besides Kerry? Is whatever "message" you think you're sending worth losing 1/2 of your potential political contribution?

We both know you're not ignorant enough to let "party loyalty" factor into your decision-making process, so why not pick a party so you can get in on the sweet primary action?

In Texas we have open primaries. So I need not be registered with any particular party to participate in the primary election. I make my choice at the voting booth.

Being an independent is cool because you'd better believe the politicians are monitoring how you vote so they can have you next election. So you influence both sides of the aisle in a way a registered republican or democrat really doesn't.
