What took the Fatah party years/decades to do in terms of moderation, Hamas has done in weeks.

Israel has known for quite some time that it will be unable to control the areas that have a majority of Palestinians.

It would be pretty stupid for Hamas to continue to the point that it gives Israel the political justification to destroying it.

It should also be cognizant of the fact that the entire country's economic system is dependent on the 1.1 billion it receives in foreign aid.

Aid which as of right this second its not getting because of its hardline stance.
