Administration’s crackdown on leaks puts whistleblowers under scrutiny (http://www.insightmag.com/Media/MediaManager/goss.htm)

President Bush has ordered the largest crackdown in decades against whistleblowers in government.

The Justice Department has initiated or summoned to investigate whistleblowers throughout the government. Officials said the effort includes FBI agents questioning suspected leakers, particularly in defense and intelligence agencies.

"The investigation is part of the administration's effort to stop leaks, particularly in national security," an official said. "The evidence shows that national security leaks have been fully exploited by al Qaeda."

The Justice Department has sought to determine who divulged the existence of Mr. Bush's secret domestic spying program. The probe comes as the Senate Judiciary Committee began its investigation of the domestic surveillance program conducted by the National Security Agency since 2001.

Funny, they don't mention the CIA leak case.

Also, is this a way to supress the media under the guise of "national security?"

Two Words: Police State.

I'm sorry but people who speak out against this administration and bring to the public's attention the laws that are being broken, etc, should NOT be silenced. I feel that it is every American's duty to ensure that the highest office in the country does not bring discredit upon itself or the United States of America.

Illegal wiretapping in the name of "National Security" is still illegal wiretapping.

With the way the government is cracking down on the porn industry to have them keep such detailed records of their actors/actresses ages -- probably not in another 10 years.

In 10 years I'll be 34. I'll be prepping to die then.

Boys boys, I am living proof that there is much life after 34.

But even if you want to end it there, we still need to think about the people who will inherit what we leave behind. Our progeny.
