In Truth Social post on Sunday morning, Trump, who takes office tomorrow, asked companies "not to let TikTok stay dark."

"I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law's prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security. The order will also confirm that there will be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok from going dark before my order," he wrote.

He added: "I would like the United States to have a 50% ownership position in a joint venture. By doing this, we save TikTok, keep it in good hands and allow it to say [sic] up. Without U.S. approval, there is no Tik Tok. With our approval, it is worth hundreds of billions of dollars - maybe trillions. Therefore, my initial thought is a joint venture between the current owners and/or new owners whereby the U.S. gets a 50% ownership in a joint venture set up between the U.S. and whichever purchase we so choose."

Is Trump advocating that the U.S. government should own half of TikTok? That's ludicrous.

Also, Trump's unfortunate cognitive degradation is evident in his writing.

It does sound like that, and if so I disagree with that action. I don’t think the federal government should be involved in owning media or private industry, even though we have been since LBJ. We’ll see how this plays out.

Lol @ you saying Trump has cognitive degradation when for years you turned a blind eye to Biden. Get outta here with that nonsense…

TikTok will be 100% owned by US investors within 6 months. It's all or nothing, which is the message sent here. Can't you read?

Seriously, why do you feel the need to create a new thread for every single retarded thought that enters your brain? I know your parents never gave you any attention, but that's not our fault. That's your fault for sucking that bad.

Anyway...

It's hard to see how people's TikTok viewing history would be a threat to the country. DeepSeek, on the other hand...

President Donald Trump on Monday signed an executive order that outlines plans for a government-run sovereign wealth fund to serve as an economic development tool and perhaps be used to buy TikTok.

Among the aims for the fund would be developing infrastructure such as airports and highways, and it could help the U.S. extend its influence in areas such as Panama and Greenland.

“We’re going to stand this thing up within the next 12 months. We’re going to monetize the asset side of the U.S. balance sheet for the American people,” U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said during a media parley. “There’ll be a combination of liquid assets, assets that we have in this country as we work to bring them out for the American people.”

One of you geniuses explain what it would mean to "monetize the asset side of the U.S. balance sheet." I anticipate corruption, fraud, graft and malfeasance.
