This was definitely unexpected, and I think his appearance aligns well with the selection of JD Vance, given his upbringing, background, and familiarity with the Rust Belt constituency. The Teamsters President's speech was powerful, and although he didn't outright endorse Trump, what he did was firmly state that organized labor should no longer be beholden to one party of the past, and vote based on their own best interests. It was basically a veiled permission slip to union members to vote their conscience, and voting for Trump and the Republican party would not get you blacklisted like before.

The Democrats are truly in trouble if they lose organized labor. Let's hope Sean O'Brien doesn't end up like Jimmy Hoffa.
