View Full Version : GOP Third Debate of 2023

Republicans will hold their third primary debate of the 2024 election tonight in Miami. With just five candidates on the stage, it should be less of a shouting match than earlier debates.
It is very clear to me that Nikki Haley would be Republicans' strongest candidate in a general election. Unless there is a big change in the hearts of Republicans, she won't be the nominee. Right now, it's hard to see any primary candidate beating Trump, even though Republicans tied to Trump keep losing elections. The recent poll (https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/politics/2023/11/06/poll-shows-trump-beating-biden-in-6-key-battleground-states) showing Trump leading Biden in several swing states will weaken the electability argument being made by Trump's primary opponents.
If any of the remaining contenders have a point to make, they'd better make it tonight. That urgency should make tonight's debate interesting.

Since they are missing the leading candidate by a wide margin, I won’t be watching.

Because most people have a memory that lasts to this mornings breakfast, let me give a little reminder...
Remember when RINO Republicans demanded that candidates sign an agreement or they couldn't be in the debates, then Trump said no and now the Republicans are mad that Trump isn't in the debates?
The best part is DeSantis latching on to the Iowa governor like they won some prize. You know, the governor with 2 DUI's on her record, gutted Iowa's unemployment insurance and vetoed Democrat and Republican efforts to improve Iowa's medical cannabis program.
Republicans deserve to lose.

Ramaswamy came prepared with zingers. He just said something like "Do you want Dick Cheney in 3-inch heels? If so, we've got two of them on the stage tonight." I had to slap my hand over my mouth.

"We are depleting Russias military so we can build a better military..."
"We shouldn't give them money, we should just be arming them..."
I made it that far. The RINO's are trying so hard to take the Republican party back, that they wrecked with their creepy war fetishism, with more war fetishism.
Haley is the biggest loser tonight.

Trump won the night, again. Vivek is still there to deliver trump talking points and laugh at the other candidates. Will someone please get chris Christie another cheeseburger, the man looks hungry.

"China has 300 ships in their Navy"
Sure, if we're counting canoes as naval vessels.
I got visions of little children playing with Mr. Tugboat in the bathtub as the Republican candidates argued over which is better, submarines or battle ships.

I personally think it's great that Republicans are ignoring themselves candidates and continuing to pretend Trump's support in polling means he stands a chance in the elections next year. Just means Biden will have that much easier of a time beating him a second time in an election.

I think it’s great you still believe Biden is absolutely certain to be the Democrat Party nominee given that most Dems don’t want him to run & his terrible polling.

We’re still a year away and Democrats are just now starting to become desperate. I wouldn’t count that out as a possibility next year.

Agreed, and perhaps that is the only reason they haven’t tried it again because they know that to be true. I will never participate in that nonsense of mask wearing, social distancing, the jab, etc. again. You can try to take away my job, my liberty, whatever…that’s my line in the sand.

Polling showing Trump winning in 2020..he didn't. Polling had Walker and Oz winning, they didn't. Polls had Republicans taking the governship in Kentucky, the legislature in Virginia, and Ohio passing an abortion ban, the exact opposite happened.
Polls are a great way to see what people are thinking when they're asked a question, but when it comes to the actual voting GOP fatigue and apathy has set in. Democrats will show up in DROVES to make sure Trump doesn't win. Meanwhile, Republicans won't be bothered voting for a penniless guy sitting in a Georgia jail cell.

I’ll give you that polls have been known to be completely wrong. Like this one posted November 7th 2016:

That being said, you are the only person I know that is totally satisfied with Biden. I do realize that is a sample size of 1, but the litmus test is that there are many Democrat mega donors and delegates worried about Biden being the nominee. You are also making a huge assumption Trump is going to be in a Georgia jail & penniless. Remember that he has to be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by twelve jurors.
But we’re speculating…that’s why we have elections. We’ll know the truth in 12 short months.
Edit: Also I don’t know about the GOP fatigue. I’m pretty fired up to see Biden (or Hillary, Kamala, Michelle, Gavan if it’s them) voted out.

Sorry SP... you think anything you just said matters... it doesn't.
The fix is in for 2024, just as it was previously. All rational and logic has been decimated in US politics.
Best thing to do now is just get somewhere that your family might be somewhat okay, once the chickens all come home to roost.
Baltimore, Detroit, San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia, DC, Portland, Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver... no rational person would think the policies that have ruined those locations is smart... sadly we're not dealing with rational people... ignorance is spreading faster and faster now.... and now that they've gotten those cities/States where they have them... they're coming for the rest.

I’m an 80s kid and a glass half full kind of guy. Life is too short to live without hope. All it takes for evil to be defeated is for good men to do something about it.
Besides…I have almost 1 year old boys that I’m raising to be the chosen ones. Think identical twins but John Connor. They are going to teach humanity how to smash those metal motherfuckers into junk & restore balance to the Force.

Lol... I'm with ya man... I'm just to old to give a fuck at this point... I'm okay with the solutions it will require, the majority are not. Hence, I just reside in a peaceful, quiet, and abundant place to watch it all from.

The polling didn't account for the election fraud going on. No one can anticipate how many dead people, illegal aliens and stolen ballots the Democratic party will "show up in DROVES".
