There are ways to put pressure on Russia that we haven't started yet. I don't give a fuck what her political views are, I see it as a US citizen being treated unjustly.

She fucked up and is likely to pay some pretty serious consequences for having taken part of her stash with her. What remains to be seen is just how much she had traveled with and how that's impacted her proposed sentencing.

This website has some decent information on a Russia's more common cannabis related offenses. What's been reported as her potential sentences seems harsh if it really wasn't an instance that of a couple cartridges that she forgot in laundry.

She is now a political bargaining chip and absolutely Russia and domestic actors have been using it as an opportunity to throw shade on our country. Until more information is received to make an informed opinion on her sentencing, it boils down to her not being in this mess if she hadn't brought drugs with her.
