COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina has scheduled its first execution after corrections officials finished updating the death chamber to prepare for executions by firing squad.
The clerk of the State Supreme Court has set a April 29 execution date for Richard Bernard Moore, a 57-year-old man who has spent more than two decades on death row after he was convicted of killing convenience store clerk James Mahoney in Spartanburg.

In the case of a firing squad execution, three volunteer shooters — all Corrections Department employees — will have rifles loaded with live ammunition, with their weapons trained on the inmate’s heart. A hood will be placed over the head of the inmate, who will be given the opportunity to make a last statement.
What if they miss?
I bet the people who volunteer to be on the firing squad are super cool.

They can't. The rifles are stationary. It is basically just three people pulling a trigger and two bullets hitting a guy. Also, you can only be executed by firing squad on request, you get a choice between that, lethal injection, and the chair, with the chair being the primary method.

I bet James Mahoney thinks they're pretty cool.

Which of those three would you choose? I'm asking just in case I ever face that decision.
Electric chair, I think. Of the three, that's the only one that might possibly turn you into a superhero, based on what I've seen on teevee. On the other hand, you don't want to forget what happened in The Green Mile.

What's really funny about Clyder's "Won't someone please think about the violent murderers?!?!" is the reason lethal injection (the apparently more humane way to execute someone) is no longer an option in the state of SC is because the company that made the drugs bowed to pressure from far left activists to stop making the drugs/selling it to states, thus leading to a shortage of the drugs. And since by law SC gave death row inmates the choice between lethal injection or electric chair, and since they all knew the state was out of lethal injection drugs, they all opted for lethal injection, meaning they couldn't be executed. That is why the state had to introduce a new law that states lethal injection is an option only if the state has access to the necessary drugs, otherwise they have to choose the electric chair and still wanting to give death row inmates a choice they decided to add an option of firing squad.
tl;dr: YOUR party is the reason the more humane way of executing someone is no longer an option and now YOUR party is outraged. YOUR party only makes things worse for everyone.

Bullets are cooler than a circulatory system full of death by meds, or a lectro louie.
