After months and years of being unable to get the attention needed to return to the spotlight, Palin hit it big in NYC last week. Everybody in conservative circles is praising her.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams criticized Sarah Palin on Thursday for visiting multiple Manhattan restaurants while infected with Covid-19.

Palin sat for at least three al fresco meals over the last week while ignoring the city's rules and recommendations to prevent the spread of the virus. On Thursday, the mayor's office said her behavior was putting New Yorkers at risk.

“By repeatedly flouting CDC guidelines, Ms. Palin has shown a complete disregard for the health and safety of small business workers and her fellow patrons," mayoral spokesperson Jonah Allon said in a statement. "The city offers multiple resources to support isolation for those who test positive for COVID-19, and we encourage Ms. Palin to join the 98 percent of New Yorkers who report they have followed guidance on isolation and have helped New York City stop the spread.”

It reminds me of the sad case of Mary Mallon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Mallon), better known as Typhoid Mary, who was infected with a disease that killed many people but caused no symptoms for her. Everywhere Mary went, the disease was sure to follow. Doctors told her she was infected, but she refused to believe them. Eventually, the government forcibly quarantined her.

The ethical question of her arrest and forced quarantine asks if there was a justification for arresting her and isolating her from the world. The answer to this question is complex and is still being argued to this day. Historians frequently bring up the argument of Mallon knowing she was contracting her clients with Typhoid based on the frequency of the disease being present after her departure. They also cite the argument that antibiotics did not exist at this time and ten percent of those affected by Mallon carrying the infection died.[52] This argument could also potentially view Mallon as a murderer of those ten percent of people if she knew she was a carrier of the disease. This argument would be a justification for her arrest. Another group of individuals argues that Mallon did not know that she had the bacteria and therefore does not deserve to be arrested when she never committed a crime. At the time there was no such thing as an asymptomatic carrier and Mallon was believed to have said that she didn’t feel sick, look sick, or have any sort of visible sickness.

We've been at the "intentionally contract a deadly disease to own the libs" phase for a while.

Now we're at the phase of the culture war where they're throwing dead plague-ridden goats over the wall.
