"Congress mandates anti-drunk driving technology for cars"

"Specifically, the bill requires something that will “passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired.”

If you think it's about stopping drunk driving, you're not paying attention.

"starts"

It has been happening since at least the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001, probably before that but in a smaller capacity.

Agreed, but there were always ways to skirt it. Leaving your phone at home as one example. Sure cars have options with tracking devices, etc.. but currently they're options. Government mandated tracking hard/software in all vehicles is absurd.

Of course I'm the same one baffled by people with Alexa, or the Google thing, that they put in their home. Not sure people realize what those things do in the background.

Nah, go outside in any city and look around. There are hundreds of cameras. The NSA has access to every feed that goes online. They claim they aren't tracking individuals, but rather putting everything into one database searching for key things but... Do you really trust the NSA?

And that is just the most visible thing.

100% correct. Not sure others realize what actually goes on, but /shrug.. they'll figure it out eventually.

I hate to break this to you but breathalyzers and trackers have been a condition for probation for repeat drunk drivers for a while now. And there is nothing wrong from saving others from irresponsible alcoholics who can't control themselves.

Around 10,000 people die every year in the US from drunk driving accidents, the NHTSA says.

Why not just make alcohol illegal, again, and we can save even more lives?

Why not get rid of all cellphones?

"Texting while driving is 6x more likely to cause an accident than driving drunk."

If you think mandating tracking hard/software in all vehicles is about stopping drunk driving... I'll say it again... you're an idiot.

Because grandpa, the alcohol isn't the problem it's the people not drinking responsibly.

Progressives tried to do that 100 years ago.. they learn from their mistakes.

This is really just a way to push people toward electric cars. A common feature on them is self-driving mode.

You're like one of those guys that screams themselves incoherent about the evils of sex education, but gets upset when their twenty year old winds up pregnant because they didn't understand how a condom worked.

We should just outlaw teen pregnancy. Problem solved.

You're like one of those guys that tells their girlfriend how much you love them so you can get your dick wet, then convinces them to kill your offspring when you get handed the pee-pee test.

It's bigger than electric cars. Different approaches are being implemented piecemeal all over for testing/incorporation.

Trying to imagine what it must be like to have so little risk of actual government oppression in your life that you have to start making up government oppression fantasies to keep your political rage going.

Not nearly as terrible as having so little racism in the real world that many Leftists have to make up new ways things are racist in order to have a windmill to tilt at and feel the need to fake racist assaults to garner media attention.

Unfortunately for you, you are anything but normal.

He's getting FL and NC. Thanks Comey. I hope everyone enjoys the new dictator.

This is the scariest political moment in my lifetime

But for some of us- this is beyond terrifying. I'm so scared for my family that I'm literally sick to my stomach.

Anyone in our situation would worry. We'd be insane not to.

And even if nothing ever happens- my family is going to live in fear of it for at least the next four years. My brother shouldn't have to live that way. I'm glad you and your daughter don't have to worry about it. And I'm glad you don't have to worry that she'll be forced to leave her home and live in a place she barely knows. But my family does have to worry about those things.

Tell me again why me and my family shouldn't be terrified right now.

But given the conversation that has gone on in this thread- don't tell me that I shouldn't be up at night staring at the ceiling. This is the nightmare my family woke up to today. I hope our fear and our pain is buying you something wonderful.

This was just in ONE thread (albeit, one of my favorite threads on this forum) where you literally had a mental episode because of the election results were not to your liking.

I didn't even link posts where you called President Trump a fascist, a Russian puppet or compared him to Hitler.

Seems like your mental health is determined by who is President at the time.

You are a Psycho. With a capital P.

Just so we are clear then: Trump wasn’t a dictator after all?

Also Democrat states and cities weren’t forcing people to stay in their homes and threatening arrest and in some cases actually arresting people for leaving their homes last year?

"Former Biden aide helped Amazon kill off dozens of privacy laws nationwide, leaked documents show"

"Internal memos explicitly outline Carney's mission to "change or block US and EU regulation/legislation that would impede growth for Alexa-powered devices," and celebrate his division's successes in neutering new laws to the point that they have "little if any" impact on the company's practices. Reuters reported that Amazon has "killed or undermined" privacy protections in more than 36 bills."

LOL... all one big fucking family. Fuck big tech, "mainstream media" and the Democratic Party. It's a fucking State Run media campaign designed to solidify power.

But hey, you Demtard's keep thinking your representatives actually care about you.
