The officials say the restrictions are seen as an unofficial "gag order" and are often referred to that way among colleagues. The officials requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media about the topic.

Border Patrol officials have been told to deny all media requests for "ride-alongs" with agents along the southern land border; local press officers are instructed to send all information queries, even from local media, to the press office in Washington for approval; and those responsible for cultivating data about the number of migrants in custody have been reminded not to share the information with anyone to prevent leaks, the officials said.

Multiple news organizations, including NBC News, have requested access to or photos from inside overcrowded border processing facilities holding unaccompanied migrant children; they have been denied. The DHS press office released one photo late Tuesday of a mother and child undergoing a health screening inside a border facility, but no wider shots to show conditions or sleeping arrangements.

At the height of the Trump administration’s child separation policy in June 2018, it allowed media to tour facilities where separated children were held.

The new restrictions have been passed down verbally, not through an official memo, the officials said. The unofficial policy has led some agents at the border to release videos that show mass arrests and surges of migrants without permission from Washington, two officials said.

This is Authoritarianism

The left doesn't have a problem with authoritarianism or fascism though... it's a means to an end. End goal is socialism and without a strong government to force people to work, socialism fails.

This is all going as expected.

Great plan.

Until the sale of uppers and barrels is restricted.

If you buy any lowers now, make sure you get the right set of parts for an entire AR, not just the lower.

Well, it will be hard to regulate sale of other parts since they are not technically a firearm and anyone can manufacture them, but your point is well made. Uppers would be hardest to manufacture over barrels, but still, not beyond what a smallish machine shop would be capable of.

As for parts, well I lost all my firearms in a boating accident.

You're right....not a firearm. Until the laws are changed.

And yes, I also had a tragic boating accident.

I would hope that at some point after the numerous lawsuits are filed that the SC would vote to uphold the 2nd Amendment and those 4 most important words. I am not counting on Roberts since I think he is a closet liberal and not the constitutionalist he claims to be. But I would hope the other 5 would put an end to that sort of lunacy.

As odd as it seems, Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema have said that they oppose doing that and without both of them it is a non-starter. I think both of them see the long game, instead of what the next 44 months will bring, whatever the Dems can do, the Repubs can do when they are next in power.

And the Democrats view Romney, Murkowski and Collins and the bright lights of the Republican Senate.

Personally, I don't trust any of them. Manchin will do whatever gets him the most votes/power just like they all do.

It is hard to argue that point.

For now, Manchin sees his position as advantageous to him so he will continue his centrist philosophy.

Murkowski and Collins are more or less known variables.

To some extent Romney is too, he is probably more conservative than recent events would suggest but his rabid hatred for Trump drives him to doing stupid things and I feel certain he will have a primary challenge his next election cycle and he will get beat over the head with his votes. That being said, he is still a political creature and should be shot in the head, like the other 534, not literally of course I am not a Bernie supporter after all. We will lose some good ones, but like whiskey barrels, you've got to give up the angels share.
