If you were waiting for Rage Against the Machine to collectively chime in with their take on the modern revival of old-fashioned racism (which has always been there, but is far more prevalent in society now than it was five years ago), your day has come.

Arguably the most politically charged band of all time has just released a short documentary called Killing in Thy Name in order to serve as “a fire escape from the fiction known as whiteness and a spring for discovery.”

Of course, the film utilizes plenty of the band’s “Killing in the Name” as a soundtrack and reference, while the material itself goes into an explanation about how people who now consider themselves “white” have actually come from a wide variety of backgrounds and committed no shortage of atrocities over the centuries.

Teaching anyone that their color in any way defines who they are, what they are, or what they can be is horrendous... regardless of which color you choose. That is not the ideal that any person should strive for.

But you spent 30 seconds googling old information, much of which doesn't directly pertain to this topic since it relates to money previously directly given to their government which Biden didn't restore, and since it's old, doesn't take into account the steps the international community, including the US, have taken in order to mitigate the issue.

I think it compares in a way that it is showing they are completely out of touch. Barry Bonds is arguably the greatest player to ever play the game, hell, he was feared so much that pitchers would walk him even with the bases loaded. He basically saved baseball in the early 2000s. You turn every single one of his homeruns into an out and he still has something like a .361 career on base percentage. Also, they have voted in people who never played baseball, but have only managed, including people who never even coached in the major leagues.

Yeah it's kind of odd how the nomination process goes and what they feel constitutes 'rock' or something that was 'instrumental to the development of rock'. But rock is a super broad category with a bunch of cross pollination, and depending how specific you want to get with it you could potentially exclude anything besides like Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley or early 20th century blues, gospel, and country artists.

BTW, this idea that "Whiteness" is some modern invention is rubbish. Leftists know nothing about history prior to WW2. The Naturalization Act of 1790 limited US citizenship to "free White persons" and referencing Europeans collectively as "White people" goes back at least to the early 1600s. Opening citizenship to non-Whites didn't change until the 1965 Hart Celler Act. Until then America was a stable 90% White, 10% black. The Hart Celler Act was passed with the promise that it wouldn't significantly change the demographic makeup of the country. Well, we can see now that that was a big fat lie.
