That will show them. Mexico will pay for the wall for sure now, since a wall would definitely solve this problem.


Word to parse..
"illegal immigration" -- Does that include asylum seekers?
"...or large sections of the Border" -- That's wiggle room.

Also, I doubt much will come of it. Commercial lines go both ways across the border. It's not like a government shutdown where everybody will get their pay eventually, even though that was shitty too. Shutting down the border entirely is a "Do not pass go, do not collect $200, immediately put a bunch of US companies out of business" kind of deal that wouldn't fly. I can think of two right off the top of my head who import from Mexico to sell to my company that would be just immediately done if the border were closed for more than a week or so.
