Sure, tapes can be doctored, but there are people in that office with Trump and Cohen that can be called as witnesses.

False. An attorney may not be able the ethically plead Not Guilty on behalf of a client if the client admitted to crimes (the client can still plead on their own) but it is still protected, unless the client waives it.
A lawyer may inform on IMPENDING crimes, such as if the client says he is about to go kill someone.

You can't use it to plan a crime, no. Then he is just an accessory and not a lawyer. You can use it to discuss a crime you have committed if you are looking at your legal options.
You can't use it to subpoena the PC for IPs because you are butthurt either.

That recording sounds like a lawyer giving his client options. I've only heard 1 of the 12 tapes so the others may tell a different story, but it seems like a lawyer telling a client their options how to move forward. The client should be able to have a reasonable expectation that these are legal options. I don't think this particular tape is the smoking gun people are making it out to be. Again the other tapes could paint a different story.

It's not giving options. They're discussing what they're already going to do. If a payment had actually occurred, this would be evidence of a crime. (At minimum- fraud for applying for financing and creating a business under false terms- which is what happened with the Daniels payment).
Having said that- there was never any payment. So there's no obvious crime here.
What it does show is that Trump is a liar, and it's further evidence that Trump is VERY hands on when it comes to his dirty work. That has some implications for the Russia investigation.
But this isn't going to convince any Trump supporters to suddenly stop supporting him. They already either know he's a crook (and don't care), or they're deluded and have already rationalized far worse.
But the fact that people continue to take his word on things even after the literal thousands of lies is pretty mind blowing.

Then your grasp of the crime-fraud exemption is as tenuous as pk's is.
The client (in this case Trump) is the one who has the attorney-client privilege. A lawyer can't unilaterally decide to breach that privilege unless someone's life is in danger. This is why pk's first two sources showed that Trump waived the privilege which is why the releasing of this tape was allowed, not because Trump "committed crimes with" Cohen.

Yeah genius- I posted on this extensively and argued with the conservative trolls about this months ago when Cohen's lawyer initially tried to invoke attorney-client privilege to protect himself. I know how the crime-fraud exemption works. More to the point:
1) What you're saying it completely irrelevant. The point of my post was that you missed that PK was referring to the crime-fraud exemption in the first place. Discussing how attorney-client privilege works has absolutely no bearing on that.
2) I already said that there was no crime committed. So your second point is equally irrelevant.

In response to drauz's question about Cohen releasing these tapes being a breach of confidentiality. Again, the lawyer doesn't get to decide that.
As if that weren't bad enough you then offered up this gem:
No. You cannot use attorney/client privilege as a shield if you're discussing committing a crime or covering a crime up. It's called crime/fraud exception, look it up. It's why Cohen was raided back in April.
Cohen's office being raided had nothing to do with the crime-fraud exception and in fact a judge was assigned to go over everything seized and decide if they fall under client-attorney privilege.
But then again you think one does not have to prove damages in a slander case so I understand you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed.

You really don't understand the things you read. The raid was signed off on because they convinced a judge they have reason to believe a crime was committed.
Trump then said they were seizing documents that fall under attorney-client privilege, and Preet, being the anti-Trump piece of garbage that he is, then said they can seize those documents because it falls under the crime-fraud exception, implying that Trump discussed committing future crimes with his lawyer.

Lanny Davis, Cohen’s lawyer, told Axios that we’ll soon learn more about what his client “saw and heard” during his long stint as Trump’s attorney and fixer. “Michael Cohen has made a turn. This is on the record—Michael and I talked about it,” Davis reportedly said. “I’m not saying there are more tapes as telling as [this] one... but there are more tapes.... There is more to come.” The lawyer went on to say that leaking the tape to CNN was Cohen sending a message to Trump that: “I am no longer the previous Michael Cohen that you knew—taking a bullet for Donald Trump, saying anything to defend him, being a good soldier....
But really great job demonstrating your lack of reading comprehension and logical reasoning skills.
This was already deemed protected by the people handling the search. The only reason it is allowed out is because the Trump defense team seem to be literal morons.

God damn the term nazi is going to lose all meaning when it is thrown out so much over opinion differences. To the point where no one is gonna believe them when they find actual nazis. Crying wolf only works for so long.

Right- because there was no crime.
And yes, they figured they could spin the tape as proof that Trump is innocent. And if that's their strategy- imagine how bad the truth must be.

I'm pretty sure they released the tape to change the news away from his disastrous meeting with Putin.

That does feel like the more likely explanation, and it's their standard play in these situations.
It's pretty amazing how low our standards have gotten for President of the United States in just a year and a half.

Federal investigators have reportedly seized more than 100 recordings made by Michael Cohen that could involve President Trump or his businesses, according to The Washington Post. Two sources cited in the report say some of the recordings feature Trump talking, while a significant portion of the tapes come from Cohen secretly recording reporters inquiring about Trump both during the 2016 presidential campaign and after he won the election.

If Trump and Cohen were working to keep these payoffs a secret then yes, they were conspiring. If you and your friend were trying to keep your purchase a secret then yes, that is conspiring. Yay, you learned a new word!

So we're not suggesting anything illegal necessarily happened? Just that Trump had secret conversations with his attorney? This IS breaking news.

Actually, those payments are all potential violations of Federal election law and, based on the Stormy Daniels situation, may also have involved no small amount of Fraud. Avenatti's flare for the dramatic aside, he is using the word "conspired" in its legal sense.
And he's using it correctly.

"Potential" is the only thing the Democrats have to go on.
Poor things.
The 2018 Midterms have a potential of being a gigantic blue wave that will flood the entire country with liberalism!!

Not really.

2) Threaten tgo01 with legal action
3) Threaten to dox tgo01 and get him fired from his job for hurting his feelings.

Everything is a "potential" crime if we don't have all of the details and just start conjecturing on what we don't know.

You are correct that it's all in "potential crime" territory. And, under normal circumstances, it would be appropriate to give a lot of the benefit of the doubt.
But this isn't a normal circumstance. We're talking about two people who are mired in shady business dealings, who flaunt their ability to break the law, and whose activities have already presented a very strong case for probable cause- enough to get a lawyer's office raided. And, by all accounts, a lot of that probable cause was based on a hush money payment. Given how many of these payments appear to have occurred, and given how unlikely it is that they would only have broken a bunch of laws in one of those situations (and just kept every other hush money payment on the up and up), I would say that it's fair to be suspicious.
