Let's face it- Trump is a pathological liar. And it gets to the point where it's actually really hard to keep track of all of the false or misleading things he says on a daily basis. In fact, he told over 2000 of them (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2018/01/10/president-trump-has-made-more-than-2000-false-or-misleading-claims-over-355-days/?utm_term=.3ede68c92c40). The fact that it's so easy to lose sight of how many falsehoods he tells, and the fact that so many of his supporters genuinely believe everything he says (trust which Trump flagrantly abuses) means it's actually hard to hold him accountable for the statements.
As of this moment, Politifact has rated 532 of his statements. Of those statements:
5% are rated as true
11% are mostly true
15% are half true
22% are mostly false
32% are false
15% are pants on fire
Which breaks down to: 16% of his rated statements were at least mostly true, and 69% were mostly false or worse.
So this thread is to help keep track of all of the crazy lies he tells.
I'll start:
Today it was: The Washington Post acts as a lobbyist for Amazon. It doesn't. (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/ct-trump-amazon-tweet-20180331-story.html)
He also claimed the US Postal Service loses "billions" on their Amazon deal. They actually make money. (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/amazon-contract-usps-fact-checking-trump-tweets-amazon-post-office-03-31-2018/). Also it's against Federal law for the Post Office to make deals where it doesn't cover the cost of shipping.
He also said Amazon pays little or no state/local taxes. It collects taxes in 46 states. (http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2018/mar/29/facts-donald-trump-amazon-taxes-usps-retail/) There are four states where it isn't taking in enough.
