TOP-SECRET NSA REPORT DETAILS RUSSIAN HACKING EFFORT DAYS BEFORE 2016 ELECTION (https://theintercept.com/2017/06/05/top-secret-nsa-report-details-russian-hacking-effort-days-before-2016-election/)
https://theintercept.com/2017/06/05/top-secret-nsa-report-details-russian-hacking-effort-days-before-2016-election/
The report indicates that Russian hacking may have penetrated further into U.S. voting systems than was previously understood. It states unequivocally in its summary statement that it was Russian military intelligence, specifically the Russian General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate, or GRU, that conducted the cyber attacks described in the document:
Russian General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate actors … executed cyber espionage operations against a named U.S. company in August 2016, evidently to obtain information on elections-related software and hardware solutions. … The actors likely used data obtained from that operation to … launch a voter registration-themed spear-phishing campaign targeting U.S. local government organizations.

If you guys took the time to read at least one of the links in the first post about HOW they are doing it I think it would appeal to your intelligence since you are both saavy veterans of the internet. This is the information age, gentlemen, and the Russians have beat us at our own game. It is likely that advertising companies are dying to have the amount of information governments have of their people so they could target their adverts right down to the pop ups on the web sites you visit just like a foreign power did targeting specific people with specific political messages in order to reinforce or sway their opinions.
At least read the first link and try the experiment the author lays out. It still works to some extent.

Don't forget the part where the North was fighting in the war, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. That was my favorite part.
Civil war had very little to do with Slavery. If the North still found human energy more effective than machinery they would gladly let Slavery continue.
You have to realize England started to abolish slavery as early as the 1780's, it took until the 1860's for the US to finally catch up with the rest of the world. Simple reason, the US had vast undeveloped pieces of land especially in the West and South relative to Europe; it was still profitable for human hands to work tobacco or cotton fields as these were the main export good for the country.
Then industrialization hit the US and Wall Street (yes they were still up to their shenanigans even then) decided that cutting edge technologies like the cotton gin, steam engine, and telegraph far outweighed free labour capital from slavery. So a scheme was hatched in Washington (whose occupants were heavily invested through Wall Street) to cleanse this "peculiar Southern institution". And a war that claimed more American lives than the Revolutionary War+ WW1 + WW2 + Vietnam + Cold War+ Gulf Wars + Afghanistan + Iraq combined was born.
Was it Chillmonster? Maybe I have my retards mixed up... that sounds right though.
The end of 2008 I think. You actually started it all by claiming every new poster was me. Yes, I did try and fail to create an account I could use for politics to keep it separate from GS but I screwed up a couple of times by making obvious mistakes. Some other person started making a bunch of accounts under the cover of all that so Kranar investigated. He had me mixed up with some other accounts but ultimately banned me for 6 months because I publicly shared a log in/password on a spoof account I also had. Good times.
Anyway, I'm not surprised this Russia stuff does not bother some people. It appears that the world is getting more and more divided. Antifa and Alt-right are the new Union and Confederacy.

You seem to feel very strongly about the civil war and the issue of slavery. Did you know good old stand up guy Robert was extremely brutal to his slaves? That he was one of the proponents of breaking up slave families? That he thought they were better off enslaved than free? Yep. And he was willing to attack and kill the government for saying it was not ok to have slaves.

To be fair a lot of prominent people thought it was better if slavery was slowly phased out rather than empanicpating everyone wholesale. You're looking at the man out of time, while the culture and attitudes back then were very different then now, for both Southerners and Northerners.

https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-06-13/russian-breach-of-39-states-threatens-future-u-s-elections
Russia’s cyberattack on the U.S. electoral system before Donald Trump’s election was far more widespread than has been publicly revealed, including incursions into voter databases and software systems in almost twice as many states as previously reported.
In Illinois, investigators found evidence that cyber intruders tried to delete or alter voter data. The hackers accessed software designed to be used by poll workers on Election Day, and in at least one state accessed a campaign finance database. Details of the wave of attacks, in the summer and fall of 2016, were provided by three people with direct knowledge of the U.S. investigation into the matter. In all, the Russian hackers hit systems in a total of 39 states, one of them said.

No, it really isn't.
Actually it is- given the rise of several liberal grassroots movements, and the current polling.
In the vast majority of polls, for example, the % of people who strongly oppose Trump is larger than his total approval. Typically it's 1.5-2x higher than the strongly approve camp- which is a big indication of an enthusiasm gap. Trump's approval rating among Republicans is also flirting with the dangerous sub-80 line. And the signature legislative battle (there have been no signature legislative wins for the GOP thus far) is deeply unpopular- struggling to get even 50% of Republicans to support it. Plus several extremely high profile investigations that have been a stream of steady negative press for the Administration. There's nothing going on right now that would indicate that things are moving towards the right. Add to that the fact that it's extremely unlikely that the GOP will run someone other than their incumbent, and every part of the prediction is faulty.
So it's completely possible that a Republican (other than the incumbent) will win the Presidency in 2020, but it flies in the face of all evidence right now. That makes it an extremely odd prediction to make.

You certainly can if you'd like. Trump had a 30% chance of winning according to 538. Most people tend to view odds as absolutes- 51% means definitely wins and 49% means definitely loses- but 30% means that 1/3 times he wins. 2016 was one of those 1:3 times.
But- and here's the real point- you should be researching evidence for your prediction. Saying that someone beat the odds once doesn't magically mean that anything you can conceive of is highly likely to happen. If you've got no evidence supporting your prediction- why make it?
