Hmm... Ask Wikileaks about that whole putting out classified material thing. That guy ever comes to the US he is going to jail. It does not give the press unlimited power to post up classified material. Your tax return is confidential. For it to be released by anyone other than Trump is a felony.
And I can't believe you're so happy about this. Some asshole at the IRS, who handles all our stuff, is seriously lacking in integrity. I hope they find this person and imprison them too. This shit is a breach of public trust. But no, it is cool because it is Trump.

You sound like that fucktard on CNN who said it was illegal for us mere peasants to read the Wikileaks releases and instead we had to get our information directly from "journalists" such as himself because it's not illegal for the press.
I honestly thought nothing could top your bullshit post that we should take a nationwide popular vote and divvy up house and senate seats that way, but here you go surprising me yet again.

(3) Other persons
It shall be unlawful for any person to whom any return or return information (as defined in section 6103(b)) is disclosed in a manner unauthorized by this title thereafter willfully to print or publish in any manner not provided by law any such return or return information. Any violation of this paragraph shall be a felony punishable by a fine in any amount not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution.
I do hope they find the leak, as Gelston said this is a breach of the public trust. This isn't someone telling us that the government is spying on us or anything like that. This is someone who released a former private citizen's tax returns to a journalist.

No, that just isn't true. The Washington Post even seems to be on the fence.
Q. Would a news organization that received the returns get in trouble?
A. Federal law prohibits “any person” from printing, publishing or soliciting tax-return information without the taxpayer’s authorization.
The penalties for improperly disclosing tax information were strengthened in the late 1990s, putting new restrictions, new procedures and an internal tracking system in place to address concerns about unauthorized tax-return browsing.
First Amendment experts note that while the media could be prosecuted for publishing Trump’s tax returns, a news organization could also assert a First Amendment defense. In the case of the Pentagon Papers, for example, The Post argued that publication served an important public interest.
But those arguments would not be sure winners, experts said. And members of the media would need to consider risks to their sources in any investigation of who shared Trump’s tax information.
“The courts could say, if the public thinks the tax returns are so important, let it demand that the candidate authorize the IRS to release them on pain of losing votes,” said Jonathan Zittrain, a privacy expert and professor at Harvard Law School.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/salvadorhernandez/the-white-house-just-released-some-details-on-trumps-tax-ret?utm_term=.veMyRNn7XZ#.gdn2egN0j4
The White House released some limited details on President Donald Trump’s tax returns Tuesday night, just minutes before MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was set to release details on Trump’s 2005 tax returns.Trump paid $38 million in taxes on an income of $150 million, according to a White House statement.
The statement also criticized the MSNBC host for the report, calling it “desperate for ratings” and pointing out the returns were from “over a decade ago.”
The statement seemed to defend the amount of taxes paid by Trump in 2005.
“Before being elected President, Mr. Trump was one of the most successful businessmen in the world with a responsibility to his company, his family and his employees to pay no more tax than legally required,” the statement read.

A "legal" reasoning? Take it directly from the Supreme Court's mouth...
"The objection has also been made that the principle as to immunity from previous restraint is stated too broadly, if every such restraint is deemed to be prohibited. That is undoubtedly true; the protection even as to previous restraint is not absolutely unlimited."

So? Military courts aren't sham courts or anything that charge people with crimes for the hell of it.
Just about everything someone can be tried for in military court they can also be tried for in civilian court. Obvious exceptions would be shit that only pertains to people in the military; such as desertion and not obeying orders. If you think leaking classified information only pertains to the military...I mean wow.

Or maybe they are arrogant beyond retardation. She'd only face up to 5 years in jail, they probably would be more interested in her source though, so she'd get a grand total of probably a week or two in jail for contempt. At the end of it, she got a lot of views and now she looks like an old warhorse journalist for the minuscule jail time.

I would wager that they didn't think it would have any legal ramifications to them but could to a reporter. The reporter said "damn the consequences" and so they are reporting it.
I doubt Trump is going to have her prosecuted. It would just make her a martyr. Though Trump doesn't always seem to do the most common sense things.

Which honestly makes the most sense, it was the first thing I thought when I saw it was from fucking '05. It's a decade old summary sheet, making it a complete non-issue in that it's likely well before any potential (meaningful) improprieties in terms of his political career, and not being the full return makes it completely useless no matter what year it was from.

So this stunt by Rachel Maddow showed that Trump pays federal taxes and pays a higher percent of his income in taxes than both Obama and Sanders. Well at least this one year anyways.
Also no connections to Russia. No information that would lead to Trump being impeached.
Honestly Maddow and MSNBC must be hoping their viewers are so brain dead at this point that just mentioning Trump's taxes brings in more loyal viewers and doesn't turn any away, because if anything this just made Trump look good compared to what his detractors have been saying.

On Maddow he said it was possible. Does anyone have the clip of him saying he was pretty certain?
If Trump leaked it, that'd be a bit of a political miscalculation. For one, they showed a 25% tax rate and a $100m business loss. Secondly, they get everyone thinking about his taxes again- which isn't good. And finally, it makes it really hard for the GOP to try to repeal AMT given how much he would benefit from it.

I'm curious how much of what she said is true and how much is just trying to story top or gain sympathy. I imagine she is just some random white woman who was born middle class and is upper middle class now and she likes to invent stories on an internet forum to try to put across a narrative about a world she wishes existed. She seems to only come up with the really stupid things, like the illegal brother, making more than everyone, having been poorer than everyone, when she is being stressed/attacked.
Either she is trolling or she really is this retarded. Perhaps both? Retarded trolls are the worse.

I'm guessing that this is maybe the one tax return he could "leak" out that makes him look fair in the eyes of the retarded liberals.
I'm not saying for sure President Trump leaked this out.. I'm just saying there is only a 99.99443% chance he was using Maddow for the useless tool she is.

Come on time4fun... help us out. To get the full Yatzee credit, you must create a storyline for one of the following:
1) Abortion: You can't say you had one.. those are a dime a dozen. You can't claim you were almost aborted, because that would fuck up your current storyline. Maybe you saved a Hispanic lady once by performing an abortion on her because her life was in grave peril.. something along those lines. Maybe it happened in the back of an alley and you can weave that into Trump will make abortions illegal again and that is where women will have to get them done.
2) Medical: You could really use some gravitas on this subject so you can show us you know more about healthcare than everyone else combined. Perhaps you actually have an MD, but went on to get more PhDs and decided that you needed to do something other than medicine to save the planet. Be careful here though, don't over play your hand too far.. you run the risk of alienating some people who would view you as too good to help others with your amazing medical knowledge.
3) Taxation: You could sort of do the same thing as the Medical part.. and no one cares if you stayed in accounting so you don't have any negative to this storyline. Might be the safer bet than Medical, but the rewards would be far less.
4) Government: You need something big here, given your debacle about the last election and not realizing that Presidents are elected via Electorial College and not popular vote. Maybe a "Women of Industry" government panel.. maybe you worked as an intern for a female governor somewhere.

Found the post I was thinking of.
ROFL- "It's strange that someone would talk about something they actually know about". God that just sums you up so well.
It IS strange that someone who grew up in a biracial family where half of the family were first generation immigrants (two of whom were undocumented) would grow up to have an interest in civil rights, isn't it?
And it's shocking that someone who's active in the politics folder, who actively follows matters of public policy and- in particular- civil rights, and who has an above average interest in the law spent two summers in DC working for human rights groups and was doing Hill drops the day of 9/11. I also spent a summer at the UN working on gender inclusion in the ICC at the 10th and final preparatory commission. Does that blow your mind too?
I mean, I know it's not as good a reason to be interested in the topics as being an uneducated, angry, entitled white man from one of the middle states. But hey, it works for me.

Oh yeah, how could we forget that gem?
I was literally in Washington DC working on the Hill when the plane crashed into the Pentagon Mr Mansplain.
So while you were presumably hanging out with your buddies watching HBO, I was evacuating a building and jumping into a colleague's car while we drove back to my Bethesda apartment listening to the radio reports of car bombs (turned out to be false) and trying to figure out how likely I was to die on the way back and when I had called my mother last.
So please, keep talking to me about how dangerous terrorism is and how important national security is. I'd love to learn more.

Since someone asked nicely in my rep comments I found the poor comment too:
I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people.
But I do know how to explain to you that **lower and middle income people are the ones who are getting screwed over here**. People like me will get another vacation because the tax breaks only apply to people making over 200k a year- for reasons that have literally nothing to do with expanding health care.
So they're going to kick a bunch of people off of the medicaid rolls (no insurance), turn the up-front ACA credits into tax deductions (which is great if you aren't poor and can afford to pay your full premiums up front), increase premiums for people with pre-existing conditions who don't have steady work and end up with lapses by 30%, and, oh yeah, it'll help with health savings accounts, which again, only apply to people who can actually save. Oh, and ending the mandate means younger, healthier people are going to pull out of the individual market- which is going to speed up its collapse and send premiums skyrocketing.
I grew up so poor we didn't always know when the next meal would be. I spent most of my life dead poor. And, unlike you, I vote for people who help the poor because I believe that tax cuts for people like me are stupid. There are people who need food, people who need medicine, people who need homes, and people who deserve quality education for their kids. Helping them is infinitely more important than giving some rich a-holes a second Tesla.
So before you jump in telling me I don't understand what it's like to be lower and middle income, you might want to not support legislation that screws those exact people over in the same post.

Um, they find it hard to believe that I grew up dirt poor. I was the first in my family to graduate from high school. So you can imagine we weren't rolling in cash. Mom raised us on less than the cost of my college tuition.
They also find it hard to believe that biracial families exist, and that undocumented immigrants can be related to people who are US-born citizens.
