"Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!" -President Trump via Twitter

I KNEW voting for Trump would reap rewards beyond my wildest dreams.

Is it too early to start chanting "4 more years, 4 more years"?

Now it's starting to get delicious.

Benghazi was the result of YouTube video, IRS targeting conservatives, Private email servers, Destruction of cell phones, DNC undermining their own candidates, Rioting, Internal intelligence leaks, "Tell them you're Muslim", "I know better than 63 million voters",DNC sticking with Corporate donors and now Wiretapping a Presidential candidates private business.

I have stayed away from using the term Soft Coup, but now.....

When you seat a guy as your DNC vice-chairman that has been caught on video making comments with anti-Semitic undertones. DNC emails about Bernies Jewish heritage.

Of course I more or less was referring to things like wiretapping, rioting and Primary fixing. But if you want to go the rout of eradication we could talk about human weeds, Planned Parenthood and the pro-"choice" position of the Democrats.

Wiretapping has been used by numerous parties, especially in regards to criminal activity. While not a strictly American thing, it "seems" more prevalent here. I don't remember seeing any footage of the Nazi regime doing the rioting.

I'm not familiar with human weeds, so I won't get into a discussion about that. Planned Parenthood is much more than abortion services, which are about 3% of what they actually do. STD and cancer screening, as well as contraceptives are their main modus operandi. I do not believe individuals who believe in pro-choice also believe in eradicating an entire population.

In my opinion, making comparisons to Nazis to Republicans OR Democrats is at best a stretch. Neither have come close to going that far.

Yeah...Trump is an idiot.

The only way that would have been authorized would be if there were a warrant from a Federal Judge- which would mean they found enough evidence of him colluding with Russia to convince that Judge to sign off on the warrant.

So even if Trump "wins" this ridiculous argument, he's losing badly.

I don't know if his phones were tapped or what, but if they were that's some messed up stuff IMO. As for getting a judge to sign off on it.. cmon.. you know asking a judge to do a favor for the Prez isn't a hard thing to do.

The whole Russian thing I'm still waiting to see how it shakes out. I think the Russians were just trying to fuck with our whole system, not for a specific candidate.. and that pisses me off and I think both sides should work together to ensure our security systems are better implemented. The Ambassador thing I think is more of a red herring, the cyber stuff is the real issue IMO.

As for his tweets.. I think it's just him fighting back. Look at how much coverage it gets and people see it. If someone accuses you of something and you fight back.. I don't think that's him "shifting the news cycle".. it's him giving his side. I have no doubt that the Obama administration did the wire tapping. That has already been established.

And given all the underhanded bullshit the Obama administration has done to try and screw with President Trump, I doubt it was for anything but to fuck with him more.

So here's what I'm going to say: your reaction to this baseless claim is exactly what Trump was counting on- that you would give him enough benefit of the doubt. He's doing this to undermine your faith in our intelligence agencies so that if they find something (and they already have obviously), you will doubt their findings.

FISA courts are entirely independent of the Executive, by the way. They are appointed by the Chief Justice. There is absolutely no reason to suspect that they have any reason to do favors for the Executive, nor that a Constitutional Law scholar would have dared to ask something like that.

Finally, if there was a wiretap in Trump Tower, there would be a warrant or transcripts to show. This is a story Trump could provide evidence for (he won't because there isn't any), but it's not something we can disprove- which is why he chose it.

As for my reaction. I said I don't know if it happened, just if it did it would be messed up. But I find it interesting you just believe anything negative said about him (without facts), but won't give him the benefit of the doubt on such a claim. But I would definitely not put it past a Political party to spy on each other.. I just hate that they do it. If the media treated all of our elected officials the same and reported just facts and did honest investigations on all of them, without bias, I think we would be much better off. As is, we're all getting jerked around in this current environment.

You mentioned that you thought I would believe anything negative said about Trump, but it behooves me to remind you that this is about something Trump has said.

And if you know FISA Courts, then you know two things: that evidence MUST be presented for a warrant, and, flip side, they say yes a lot.

But the end result of this, is that if Trump is lying he is the single most irresponsible man we could have put into office. And everything the dissenters said about him being unfit for office was true.

And if he's not lying- that's REALLY bad. Because it means they had enough evidence on him to get a warrant.

I'm not sure which of these is worse. But you and I both know that there is absolutely no scenario here where Obama ordered someone to wiretap Trump (and someone actually listened without a FISA Court warrant) out of political spite. That's not how the Obama administration was run. It's not really how things have been run since Nixon.

And note- if I wasn't clear enough on this- Trump's strategy has nothing to do with you personally. It has to do with people in general and hoping to get the reaction he got from you.

Tgo01

You are so pathetic it's sickening. So if Trump lied about being wire tapped he's the most irresponsible man (I love how you had to qualify that with "man", you know a woman who would have been more irresponsible?), and if he WAS wire tapped then automatically that proves he's bad? Great tweet from a NY Times journalist today:

Journalists Know: When leaders go berserk, furiously denying there's anything going on blaming others-- that's when you know you're getting close.

More than anything- Trump's reactions to the information about Russian election interference and the revelations of the numerous contacts his campaign had with Russia (despite his repeated denials that any such communications existed) are what have always struck me as most suspicious. If he had been handling all of this with a level head- not attacking our intelligence communities and the free press, for example- I wouldn't be so worried.

Yeah, not sure "journalists" should be the ones telling us about people going berserk and blaming others about "getting close."

How anyone can take "mainstream media" seriously at this point is beyond me. It's nothing but fucking confirmation bias at this point.

I also love the implication. If you deny it then OBVIOUSLY something is going on!

Trump relies on information from outside the Deep State.

Donald Trump relied on conservative media sources to make his explosive claim that former President Barack Obama had the then-candidate's phones tapped during the 2016 election campaign, according to a person familiar with the situation.

More... (http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20170304/news/170309434/)

The president, who regularly has access to classified information and intelligence briefings, relied on Breitbart News for his information about the alleged wiretap, according to the person.

Breitbart, the media outlet previously run by White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, published a story Friday outlining actions supposedly taken by the Obama administration to monitor Trump Tower during the campaign. The story, which claimed the moves were aimed at undermining Trump's candidacy, referenced commentary on Thursday by radio host Mark Levin that made similar claims.

Obama had the audacity to deny it in the face of Trump's unimpeachable -- a word with double applicability to Trump -- source.

"A cardinal rule of the Obama Administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice," Obama spokesperson Kevin Lewis said in a statement on Saturday. "As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false."

Here is why the Trump administration is interested in getting friendly with Putin. It's all about the (oil) money.

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/13/exxon-mobil-could-tap-huge-arctic-assets-if-us-russian-relations-thaw.html

Exxon Mobil (http://data.cnbc.com/quotes/XOM) stands to regain access to huge reserves of oil if the United States rolls back sanctions on Russia. U.S. sanctions on Russia have prevented Exxon Mobil from exploring assets covering 63.6 million acres. The prospect of rapprochement between the U.S. and Russia remains speculative, but both President-elect Donald Trump (http://www.cnbc.com/donald-trump/) and Russian President Vladimir Putin (http://www.cnbc.com/vladimir-putin/) have said they want to improve relations. The two countries' relationship fell apart after Russia took Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and then intervened in civil wars in Ukraine and Syria.

Here is why the Trump administration is interested in getting friendly with Putin. It's all about the (oil) money.

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/13/exxon-mobil-could-tap-huge-arctic-assets-if-us-russian-relations-thaw.html

Yeah this is an unlikely motivator.

Russia uses its oil to influence US based energy companies, but it does little to influence US government.

The more likely scenario is that they arranged part of Trump's financial bailout and/or had incriminating information on him. (If there's anything nefarious going on).

Trump released his "evidence" for the wiretapping: some media articles. The sources include Heat Street- which is far from anything approaching reputable. Notably, none of the mainstream articles listed actually suggested Obama had Trump Tower's phones tapped. Though a few are from sources he has previously labeled as fake news.

And, of course, the single most idiotic thing about this is that if there actually were a wiretap, Trump could produce actual evidence. He doesn't need "anonymous sources".

In my opinion, this entire lie warrants impeachment. This is beyond the pale.

WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/o/barack_obama/index.html?inline=nyt-per) ordered the tapping of Mr. Trump’s phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.

Sen. John McCain on Monday demanded the release of any evidence backing up President Donald Trump's claim that President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower in the run-up to the presidential election, blasting the White House’s refusal to answer additional questions about the matter.

“I haven't seen anything like this,” the Arizona Republican told reporters, explaining that the Trump administration “should answer questions.”

White House lawyers last month discovered that the former national security adviser Susan Rice requested the identities of U.S. persons in raw intelligence reports on dozens of occasions that connect to the Donald Trump transition and campaign, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

The pattern of Rice's requests was discovered in a National Security Council review of the government's policy on "unmasking" the identities of individuals in the U.S. who are not targets of electronic eavesdropping, but whose communications are collected incidentally. Normally those names are redacted from summaries of monitored conversations and appear in reports as something like "U.S. Person One."

Not a big fan of "anonymous sources" though. Hopefully more attention will be brought to address this instead of the "ZOMG HILLARY LOST THE ELECTIONS BECAUSE OF RUSSIA!!" bullshit.

This is a really spicy meme. If true, then who was Susan Rice leaking the unmasked intelligence to, and why?

Obviously it sounds like she was digging for dirt on Trump and co, but I highly doubt that she was the one that went to Wa Po and others

Supposedly the N.Y. Times sat on the Susan Rice story for a few days.

Multiple sources tell Fox News that Susan Rice, former national security adviser under then-President Barack Obama, requested to unmask the names of Trump transition officials caught up in surveillance.

The unmasked names, of people associated with Donald Trump, were then sent to all those at the National Security Council, some at the Defense Department, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and then-CIA Director John Brennan – essentially, the officials at the top, including former Rice deputy Ben Rhodes.

Because you believe Susan Rice is honest and pure?

Hopefully, more resources are after this real story instead of chasing their tails, pretending Russia was the reason Hillary lost.

Wait... so Susan Rice claimed she didn't know anything about anything related to unmasking intelligence reports regarding Trump 2 weeks ago... but NOW she said she unmasked it, but there was no political motivation behind it at all!

Seriously, drag her into a hearing and put her lying ass under oath.

Some of those comments are hilarious..

"Perhaps she illegally unmasked American citizens as part of a spontaneous protest against a video she saw online?"

Is Susan Rice black? If so it's both sexist and racist to be talking about this. Shame on you guys!
