I have two things to say about these two tweets.
First, did the debt really go down, or was it the deficit?
Second, Trump would be wise not to draw attention to the stock market. During the Bush presidency, the stock market lost an average of 4.6% per year, a terrible record for 8 years. From that low starting point, during Obama's 8 years the market gained an average of 12% per year, which is far above average.. The P/E ratio on the S&P 500 is currently a pricey 26. The probability is very low that stock market will perform as well during Trump's term or terms as it did during Obama's terms. Trump should not invite comparisons. And you should take note if you are making estimates for your retirement funds.
