Cnn came to a local radio station here to hear what happened from a right-winged somewhat-known animator.
Around 1 hour after the shootout, our Québec' Prime Ministere, our local mayor, I think even Justin Trudeau said, almost in concert: it's a terrorist act.
It was said almost everywhere, TV, radios, internet, say it.
Time has passed, and the persistant Rumor is that the "terrorist" was gay and engaged with a follower of the Mosquee. He would had been flushed by his lover or Something like that, got crazy and decided that Killing people would be a good option.
Québec city had no murder since like 3 years. That happened. Everyone is in shock and ready to believe anything as a reason why this happen. But terrorism? isn't just a bit too hard?
Don't know how you got the news from your side but please share it.

Quebec isn't the bastion of safety you seem to believe it to be. Lots of mass murder happening in your happy home region:
1984 16 people shot by Denis Lortie
1989 13 students shot by Marc Lepine
1992 4 shot and killed by Valery Fabrikant
2012 only a jammed rifle saved people from a planned shooting by Richard Bain.
2017 25 shot by Bissonnette
Your province is corrupt and seems to grow more of these kind of individuals than most countries.

Québec City != PRovince of Québec, same as New York the state and the city.
I was talking about the town.
Denis Lortie killed 3 people, in Québec City.
Marc Lepine was in Montréal and killed 14 people
Valery Fabrikant was in Montréal too, and you get the right amount of killed
Richard Bain was in Montréal
Bissonnette killed 6 people, not 25.
Comparing Montréal with Québec city, is like comparing Detroit with Portland.

Yes, 25 injured, exactly what I said...25 shot. Not necessarily killed.
A study released by two of your universities estimate that there are approximately 100 extreme right groups in Canada with almost a quarter of them based in Quebec. Islamophobia is rampant in Quebec so the liklihood of twisted individuals committing Muslim hate crimes are very high. So I'm not surprised you've had mass shootings. I'm just surprised it doesn't happen even more often.
Anyway, I know you want to believe the best of your home town (who wouldn't?) but maybe try to be a little more honest with yourself before whitewashing it's history. Do some research before acting all surprised when there is violence in your midst.
