The media should not publish leaked information that comes from Russia without first confirming it. That's the position that CNN took when somebody in the intelligence community leaked a report that Russia has compromising information on Trump with which to blackmail him.

Unfortunately, not everybody in the media agrees. Some outlets will publish leaked information willy-nilly, which is how the full document wound up on the internet. The allegation is that Trump stayed in a hotel in Russia that was bugged and they got some hugely embarrassing video or audio of him, and they say Trump's campaign exchanged information with Russia during the campaign using "pension" payments, which I don't understand.

CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/10/politics/donald-trump-intelligence-report-russia/index.html) - being cautious and not publishing details of rumors from Russia

Buzzfeed (https://www.buzzfeed.com/kenbensinger/these-reports-allege-trump-has-deep-ties-to-russia?utm_term=.mi2XmGgoo) - being not cautious

And all of this was leaked the evening before the press conference that Trump has been forced to delay several times.
