This weekend, a man walked into a mall in Burlington, WA and blew away a couple girls at the makeup counter with a shotgun. Preliminary reports are being pasted together in badly written articles like the one linked above that demonstrate this guy had a history of mental illness that was evidentally not being addressed. His family was clearly afraid of him and asked for help. Law enforcement passed it around and inevitably did nothing. Now a bunch of people are dead and many others are scarred for life.
I was always curious why there aren't any stereotypical 'Pacific Northwestern' food dishes. There are plenty of fucking Pacific Northwestern nuts, though. It's not new. Read up on the Green River killer. WA has always been a state full of pent-up, angry, gun-toting freakshows. This shooting took place 30 minutes north of Seattle, coincidentally only miles from two other mass shooting at schools and a mass shooting at a keg party that the community is still reeling from that occurred within the last year.
Not so 'liberal' as you might think, eh? That's because most of that voting power comes from King County and Seattle. At the least that shit-ass crooked legalization bill was fiscally sound so that we have some tax money to work with.
WA State has corrupt and antiquated law enforcement and NO mental health system to speak of. They are FINALLY going to pump a few bucks towards it, but it's too little, too late:
