It's starting to come together. Some politicians may be skipping the convention. but Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato, Jr. will be speakers. And you'll be able to watch by remove control..
This year, for the first time, YouTube will live-stream the conventions in 360-degree video — which, depending on your political leanings, is either a thrilling or horrifying prospect. YouTube’s 360 videos provide a wrap-around perspective users can control with their finger on mobile devices or via a mouse cursor on a computer. The live video also will be available to view in virtual reality via Google Cardboard: Are you ready to see Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in VR?
More... (http://variety.com/2016/digital/news/youtube-facebook-republican-democratic-conventions-1201814474/)
It officially starts at 1:00 PM tomorrow.

Oh, I bet he'll vote, and he'll vote for Trump even though Johnson/Weld is easily the best choice of our three options. Johnson is polling consistently at 13% (compared to 3% or something last year), just 2% shy of being eligible to debate and make no mistake, Johnson would own the other two clowns at the party.

I think that part of the speech was just too similar not to be lifted. If she sticks by her claim that she wrote it all by herself.. fucking own it. "Yes.. I found the First Lady's speech very memorable and inspirational and looking back, it clearly struck a cord in my life and while when writing the speech, I thought these were my ideas, but clearly her words affected me so deeply that it became part of me. I apologize to Mrs. Obama, for plagiarizing her impassioned speech was not my intention"
Boom.
I will say that there are parts that people are pointing to that are cliches and many people use them.. but the way the speech was put together in that paragraph, it was too close not to be lifted.

Yes, I'm sure about that. This isn't just some random stump speech. It's a speech in front of a national television audience. The whole convention is supposed to be an infomercial for your campaign. This specific speech (by the spouse) is supposed to introduce the candidate in a deeply personal way by the person that should know him the best. There should be no way that it plagiarizes another speech at all. Look at Ann Romney's speech from 2012 (which was a very good speech), Michelle Obama's speech from 2008, etc.
You want to keep living in denial about how badly run the Trump campaign is, be my guest. After all, you're the one who "likes his chances".

Get sampled in a random poll. If you don't have a landline, that's going to be more difficult - only a few polling organizations are making sure to sample cell phones.

It's a cost issue. You can't use robodialers and/or automated surveys to call cell phones by law - a human has to be involved. Hence, you'll see surveys that don't include a cell phone sample (they don't want to pay the money to do it). The polling orgs try to correct for this in their weighting, but they're making guesses as to what the electorate will look like. I believe the general evidence shows that without a cell phone sample, a poll is more likely to lean Republican than is otherwise warranted, but I haven't looked at any of the latest work on this in a couple of years.

Dude, you said his campaign was so bad.. and for evidence you said he hasn't even ran any commercials yet. Don't be all upset because I made you look foolish... it happens.
I'm surprised you think that not running ads is a sign of campaign strength in the general election.
Let's put it this way: Trump will need to massively outperform Romney's 2012 showing amongst whites, because he's certainly not going to outperform him on every other demographic. There's no evidence that his campaign is doing so.

Yea.. I probably get 5-10 calls a week. The most notorious one is a robo-call from Google, telling me my non-existent Google listing is in jeopardy of being cancelled!!!

There is a vast difference between a wife of a nominee giving a speech and a Presidential Candidate... please keep that HUGE (YUGE) distinction in mind.

Not having to spend money on advertising and gaining on Hillary's big lead seems to be a strength.

I suspect there's Republican saboteurs in the Trump campaign.Including Donald Trump.
Sort of a let me google that for you question, but how does one go about having their voice added to the polling numbers towards raising the percentage of people voting libertarian? Do you have to register for the party? Get caught in a random land line pole? What data are they using to establish this +/- 15% Libertarian statistic? The CPD also gets to pick which polls count. In 2012 they picked "ABC News/The Washington Post, NBC News/The Wall Street Journal, CBS News/The New York Times, Fox News and Gallup." which is a hilarious non-use of the Oxford comma. To my knowledge they haven't yet announced what they're using for 2016, but I would guess the same five.
No evidence.. well, except him receiving more votes than any other candidate in history, despite being 1 of 17 candidates.Despite, or because of? Surely a more competitive primary would engage more interest than a runaway, no?

Political campaigns are not subjected to the Do Not Call Registry, and are free to robocall you.
However the FTC also allows carriers to automatically drop detected robocalls (as long as they are not for anti-fraud services/etc)
So it just depends on what carrier you use, and how aggressive they are with anti-robo-tech a polito-robo-call makes it through to you

Even funnier, she's not on the campaign payroll. The speech appears to be an illegal in-kind corporate contribution to the campaign, and the note being on Trump organization letterhead suggests that as well.
the other possibility, of course, is that she doesn't actually exist. that's been running speculation today on Twitter, fueled by social media accounts in her name popping up only in the last day or so.

Pandemonium!
To elaborate..
Boos filled the convention hall in Cleveland as one-time presidential candidate Ted Cruz finished his prime-time speech to Republican activists.
The jeers rained down after the Texas senator refused to endorse Trump - now the official GOP presidential nominee - in his address.
Cruz finished second to Trump in the delegate count and the two were bitter rivals during the primary campaign.
Cruz told supporters to vote their conscience - and not to stay home for the general election in November.
The boos stopped once Trump entered the convention hall.
More... (http://www.knoxnews.com/happening-now/387613281.xhtml)
Just because Trump gave Cruz the nickname "Lyin' Ted," said Cruz's wife was ugly, and accused Cruz's dad of killing JFK, Cruz decided he didn't have to endorse Trump. It's bad form.

There hasn't been anything to galvanize Republican support behind Trump.. until this. The crowd went totally nuts against Cruz.. and when Trump came out, it was.. yuge. When asked how he felt about the speech Cruz gave, Trump said "I loved it"

Still, as of this morning, with Ailes nearly as much a subject in Cleveland at the Republican convention among political professionals as Trump himself (the rumor of Ailes replacing Paul Manafort as campaign manager is an active one, with a further rumor putting Trump in favor of this and his children against it), the negotiation continues.

You seem to be going off the bases that people are just as informed about this process as you are. You aren't looking at this from the point of view of the people you are talking about. You also seem to be missing the draw of Trump for people is that he is anti establishment and all these big established politicians not backing him is just strengthening that appeal.
You talk about the polls but I've seen several articles saying that those polls are slanted to favor Hilary to make it seem like she is winning by more then she is, if she is even winning at all.
People who have made up their minds already on who they are going to vote for aren't likely going to change them. It is the people who are on the fence that matter and I haven't seen anything lately that would make them favor Hilary over Trump. I haven't seen Trump really do much either but little bits and pieces can add up unless Hilary actually does something.
Whoever wins this election it seems like America loses. I wonder what it would take for most of you to quit voting for such people but the system is set up to make that rather difficult I believe.

A vote for Johnson is a vote for Johnson, as much as that chaps your die-hard republican ass.
eta: die-hard republican
A vote for Gandalf isn't a vote for Gandalf. There is no way Johnson is going to win NY, CA, NJ, PA.. etc etc etc. A registered Republican voting for Johnson is in effect, a vote for Hillary. A Democrat voting Johnson is a Vote for Trump.
Last poll I saw had Johnson at 13%. While that is huge really for a third party... it won't win a single state.
It's just like CA really... There are 7.4 mill registered Dems. 4.7 Mill registered Repubs. 4.1 Mill registered Independents.
Republican Votes in CA are basically worthless. Frankly.. they should all move to like.. NY and flip that state for 2020.

13% would be an extraordinary impact. Johnson would get power to shift and alter the Republicans... or press for legislative representation.

He would't get power to shift and alter Dems? Or do you always just say things would be bad for Republicans because it's your goto statement.

Libertarians have traditionally mostly been disaffected Republicans. There are a few exceptions, like Mike Gravel, but not many. Simply how they've functioned most. Greens are far more likely to be unhappy Democrats.

Voting Republican just to block Democrats and vice versa is why we are where we are as a country. Toeing the party line is beyond ridiculous at this point.

This is entirely true. Of course that is why a lot of people end up not voting too. because they don't want to vote for the lesser of two evils, they want a candidate that is WORTH voting FOR, not against. Sadly, we rarely get one.
And then you have this...
"Should Judge Garland or another Democratic appointee join the court, Justice Ginsburg will find herself in a new position, and the thought seemed to please her.
“It means that I’ll be among five more often than among four,” she said."
To me.. this is the most disgusting "toting the party Line" you can get.

13% would get him exactly what he had last election.

Sadly, we rarely get one.We don't "get" candidates, we nominate them. If you want a different one, get more involved in the nomination process, and convince other people of like mind to do the same. Trump won the nomination with 13.4 million votes, the most ever... and that's still not even a quarter of registered Republicans.

I did not know that!

>when liberals, including Obama, say idiotic things after Orlando like "it doesn't happen in other countries" as if he forgot France entirely, or Norway, or Mumbai, or Kenya, it invites mockery.
And? Are you new to politics? Are you just now understanding that Obama says and does stupid things? I stick by my point. If the first thing that comes to someones mind is

I did not know that!Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, it's your party. You can cry if you want to, or you can get out there and work for a candidate you can vote FOR. The majority of both parties don't vote in the primaries, you wouldn't have had to change a single person's mind that was already voting. That's what really drives me crazy about the people who do nothing and then complain when the process results in a candidate they don't like. Get off your butts if you're all so mad! Stop watching the foosball and go put up some flyers! Push 'em, pull 'em, do something!

He was smart enough to dodge it and savvy enough to get away with it. Sounds like a feather in his cap, to me. The people that sign up for that stuff willingly are the ones with the problems.

And the Repubs has 17 people, and I honestly didn't feel WOW about any of them, a few were "I wouldn't Mind" but most were, meh.

I will change my assessment to organized buffoons that live in an alternate reality.
I'm curious to see what Trump's convention bounce will be now in the polling. My guess is very little, but PB's seems pretty sure that this is a win, so I'll just wait and see.

The best thing so far today was when Ben Carson said in his speech that Clinton is a follower of Lucifer.
Remember when Ben Carson said (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I-LQTkytR8) at the GOP convention two weeks ago that Hillary was in league with Lucifer? Trump is saying it now too.
Trump in recent days has taken to categorizing the Clinton-Sanders understanding as a "deal with the devil" but this was the first time that he went so far as to specifically equate Clinton with Lucifer.

Spoiler Alert: You are terrible at predictions. Every election, you prove yourself a master of mental gymnastics and cognitive dissonance who will believe anything to sustain the illusion that your candidate is going to win.
2008 Parkbandit: Could the Bradley effect be responsible for Obama being 8 points ahead in the polls!?
2008 Parkbandit: I think it would be a 'riot' if Obama didn't get elected.. after all the media fanfare and rigged polling...
2008 Parkbandit: And where Obama will have the lead in delegates.. and Hillary will end up with the nomination.
2008 Parkbandit: MIGHT just be what the Doctor ordered after years of pseudo-conservatism. Bobby Jindal 2012 imo.
2012 Parkbandit: It's over because of some polling that out samples Democrat voting? You're being played.
2012 Parkbandit: And I also didn't realize the election is over. Good to know you already have come to gripes with Romney winning.. albeit not "convincingly" enough for you to legitimize it.
2012 Parkbandit's electoral prediction: 291 Romney, 247 Obama (ACTUAL results: 332 Obama, 206 Romney)
