It's sad really.. if this much effort was put into looking into Hillary's email servers, or any of the other 80 scandals...
Actually.. if you think about it, if this is true, shouldn't all the Clinton fanboys back him now?

Apparently the story has been on hold for a bit. I read some stuff about the CEO of the company that owns NE being buddies with Trump. Maybe he was just holding it and this is what Trump was warning him about.

Maybe... but I don't see the benefit to waiting in this case. Having the Repub election drawn out this long when potentially he could have quashed it sooner, or at least at Florida, makes little sense.
The only point I could see was he was afraid of a resurgent Rubio, or of Kasich. Kasich hasn't had a shot in hell ever. Rubio could have done it if X,Y,Z happened.
Just seems... odd... that a prominent spokes person for one candidate, had an affair with another, and kept it quiet. Even if it happened BEFORE the race started. (Which, lets face it, seems much much more likely.. her being from a Tea party in TEXAS of all places)

Waiting for all the establishment to get behind Cruz then start firing off the big ammo? Maybe Trump was wanting to avoid having to make it public and it was a last resort thing? Or perhaps this is just a start to a pile of shit?
I started following this story yesterday morning, the first I saw of it, the guy that posted it felt pretty confident there was something to it. Granted it's the National enquirer, but this would be a pretty risky fake story to publish in the midst of such a volatile election year. This may also be the reason they have held off on releasing the story, making damn sure they have their ducks in a row.

Strategic to wait to destroy him until there are no other candidates left. Makes Pierson really valuable to Trump if true.
He'll be forever known as the man who killed Gawker too. Well, until next year when people forget Gawker was a thing.
Denton made a devil's bargain to keep his company alive until he can appeal that downward (it'll probably happen, unfortunately, due to tort reform... Thanks Republicans!) Given some of the background circumstances around it it isn't really the suit that should've taken them down. That Condé Nast exec should've righteously destroyed them but he didn't even sue.

Makes you wonder what Ted did to Pierson to make her GO to Trump. Hell, she was one of the people pushing for Ted to get elected. (Senate)

Fox mentioned it briefly today.. by simply saying the Ted denied it completely.
Actually.. they spent more time on Clinton's emails (no surprise there) and the fact that in February of 2009, she asked her then chief of staff to see if the NSA could get her a secure blackberry for her emails for when she receives classified stuff.
Of course THAT email wasn't turned over to the state department. Go figure.

I want to be crystal clear: these attacks are garbage. For Donald J. Trump to enlist his friends at the National Enquirer and his political henchmen to do his bidding shows you that there is no low Donald won’t go. These smears are completely false, they’re offensive to Heidi and me, they’re offensive to our daughters, and they’re offensive to everyone Donald continues to personally attack.Donald Trump’s consistently disgraceful behavior is beneath the office we are seeking and we are not going to follow.
I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it. Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz. I look forward to spending the week in Wisconsin, winning the Republican nomination and ultimately the Presidency in order to Make America Great Again.

As we can see here, Ted Cruz is at Step 2 concerning his political campaign's future.
I think we may be able to move that to step 5 if this is a measure of the Cruz team morale:
Steve Deace:
If you are promoting this garbage from Trump, then we are not friends. I don't want you as a listener. Don't buy my books. Don't listen to my shows. I'd rather go back to making $35,000/year doing local sports talk radio then service your cult, if that's what it takes to make it big. Trump isn't a tough guy, anyway. He's a passive-aggressive wimp who's too scared to debate Ted Cruz one-on-one, so he attacks his wife instead. Then he attacks his marriage through his sycophant that runs a discredited trashy tabloid, and at a time he's doing no public events for eight days like the coward he is. Ain't that rich, an admitted serial adulter spreading lies about another man's marital fidelity. Just goes to show you what Trump thinks about his supporters -- that you're a bunch of gullible, amoral lemmings.
If you have been ensnared by Trump, but know this is wrong and not sure what to do, the message of Holy Week urges you to come home now for it's never too late to seek redemption. Judas called and said take a look at Katrina Pierson. For months she's been a Trump shill, defending the indefensible. Her reward for her soul has been having Trump's henchman, Roger Stone, affix a scarlet letter to her in public as a whoring adulteress. How's that for loyalty? Does Trump seem like the kind of man we should grant IRS, or surveillance power to? Don't be Trump's next mark. Now is the time to walk away from the darkness and back into the light. This might be your last chance to get your integrity back. Don't miss it.
If you are still supporting the knuckle-dragger Trump after this garbage, then we are not friends and you should be ashamed of yourself. Not even the Marxists pull crap like this. Don't ask me to help you with anything in the future, because I won't. Don't ask me to support you or any of your causes in the future, because I won't. I'm taking studious notes of who realizes what a baseless and depraved scam this has become, and from this point forward if you continue to cover for this creepy thug you're dead to me. Especially pulling this garbage Holy Week of all times. Consider this me kicking the dust off my sandals and leaving Tyre and Sidon behind.
The line in the sand has been drawn. I'm fine having fewer "friends." Just means more free time. Besides, if you're going to support this piece of human debris we shouldn't be friends anyway.

Roger Stone Drops Bombshell After Bombshell About Cruz Sex Scandal:
If It's Not All True, "Sue Me Immediately"
Trump confidant Roger Stone spoke with Frank Morano on AM970 The Answer in New Jersey/New York on Sunday morning about allegations that he planted the story in this week's National Enquirer accusing Ted Cruz of multiple extra-marital affairs.
"He’s a lawyer himself," he said, "so why won’t he sue? It won’t cost him anything. To be absolutely clear — Cruz won’t sue because the allegations are largely true."

Now that this is considered battery in today's age, we need to cancel all public activities. Our justice system will be completely bottle necked with lawsuit after lawsuit, everyone chasing after a free ride, happily delivered by our blind (obviously) justice system for their own little slice of the pie. Our secret service will be armed with glitter and will tickle people that pose a threat to our officials.

Not "bigotry." Simple legal reality. I'm not saying it SHOULD be this way. It just IS that way. People get convicted/sued for shit like that every day. You have to protect yourself. If I grabbed festival customers or parents at parent teacher conferences I would get sued at the very least. I'd be more likely to be convicted/lose if it was a woman instead of a man.
If the Secret Service was going to do that he should have left it to them. Given his position he needs to not draw liability.

I'm not saying IT'S OKAY. I'm saying it's the court system. You know you're more likely to get in trouble for grabbing a woman than a man. If you're a campaign manager for a major candidate you have to know it even more.
Apart from that, though, men enjoy a lot of advantages in America. I don't think it's worth whining about inequality when we're pretty much on top. It makes you look weak.
As a general note:
Simple battery is a basic form of battery that results in criminal charges against the defendant. When the courts use the word “battery”, they are usually referring to simple battery. It is generally defined as: The unauthorized or unlawful use of force. To the body of another person.
All that's needed is unauthorized force. A good reminder to keep your hands to yourself.

I'm sorry that you've had such a struggle in your life. Of course there's areas where where there's inequality. That doesn't mean that those areas exceed the opposite... or that you can ignore the reality of the American legal system. You're obviously pissed off about it. Vote with your feelings if that makes you feel better.

Presumably Trump is successful in filing battery charges against Fields, considering her success against Lewandowski.
In the meantime, it is an utter joke how 'the establishment' and the news organization that owns Breibart, is 'squashing' the story of Cruz's multiple mistresses.
Why not use it as motivation to rally the GoP behind Kaisch?!? If by some miracle, Cruz gets the nomination, it would absolutely sink him against Sanders/Clinton, when it comes out then (cannot be 'squashed' forever).
It is ironic that the GoP is paranoid of a Trump nomination costing the GoP the Presidency, they are overlooking how Cruz's sex scandal would severely impair his standing among Evangelists and subsequently the general election.

I took a moment to extract the meaningless bullshit from your reply and this is what we end up with:
Of course there's areas where where there's inequality. That doesn't mean that those areas exceed the opposite... or that you can ignore the reality of the American legal system.
And by your own admittance:
I'm saying it's the court system. You know you're more likely to get in trouble for grabbing a woman than a man.
So you admit that our legal system is biased in favor of women and had the rolls been reversed, there would have been no charges of battery. Thank you Feminism for reminding us that bigotry is your goal.

I got protested in college because I revealed that the Womyn's Center chalked fake rape stories before alumni weekend.

Universal Theory of the PC. You have a handful of guys connected to an old text-based online rpg who like stir political controversies on its unofficial message board. These guys mix social awkwardness with an inflated sense of their intelligence and self worth. They've probably been spurned by lots of women because they're socially awkward with an inflated sense of self worth.
Now, a group of guys like that might just be primed for misogyny. Or, at the least, it motivates them to spend time bitching about "feminism" and the mysterious negative impact it is having on their lives.

I forget what news reporter said it, but one said something along the lines of : If you are a reporter, and you don't walk away from one of these things bruised physically or emotionally, you are not doing your job. As a reporter, I get bruised trying to get a story all the time, security is always pushing me out of the way or "controlling" me.

Holy shit, that's one long string of drivel void of any logic based argument. I'll mark this up as further evidence of the decay caused by feminism.
My case is not that of awkwardness, but rather the self-entitlement the courts have given women. If one were to look at my criminal record they would find a long list of arrests for domestic abuse, I would be instantly labeled as a wife beater without any further investigation. If the time was given to look deeper into my record they would find that the state dropped the charges in every fucking case. See the laws are so tilted, that a women only need to call the police and the man is going to jail without zero evidence to back up the charges. The guy goes to court (they get their cut), then the state sees "yup another false charge", drops the charges and the guy goes about his way with yet another blemish on their record. I put up with this shit for 16 years because as a man I found it my duty to be there for my children. It's a giant joke and a lot of guys are having their lives destroyed because of these cunts like Fields. It's got to stop.

Exactly. The article you agree with says that there is an inarguable disparity in pay, an objective, numerical measurement.
The article you agree with further says that women and men do not have evenly distributed job titles and employers.
Given point one, why shouldn't we assume that the two phenomena in point two share the same cause as point one? That if we are trying to measure bias in compensation, we should include job title etc. rather than control for them because they skewed in precisely the same way as dollars? Note that this concern is obliquely referred to in the article you agree with and stated outright in GS4Pirate's YouTube video's description.

It's one thing to say maybe we should include people who get promoted to a management position because maybe men receive those promotions more often than women because of sexism (but that sounds like another study altogether) but you're seriously suggesting we should compare a cashier at Walmart to an engineer who designs and builds planes and space crafts?

Suppose someone sells you a computer and claims certain specifications (RAM, memory, operating system, etc.) and you find that they were incorrect about the operating system. Don't you then become suspicious of everything else that person told you about the computer?
To your specific question, I had a degree in physics and worked as an entry level tech support person, I would not be at all surprised to find that there are Walmart cashiers with aeronautical engineering qualifications.

Unless you're suggesting men can find jobs easier that pay more/use their college degree compared to women and this is due to sexism. Because, like, that would be a great point but it would still be a totally different issue because it still wouldn't prove that women make less for doing the same job, it would show women aren't getting the same opportunities though due to their gender.

I also don't federal employees have pay grades? I can't see how a say.. grade 5 federal male employee can make 20% more then a grade 5 female employee with same years at the job same reviews, etc etc.
I think this whole issue is people trying to compare peanuts to coconuts. Neither even being a nut.

We have established that employers are biased against women when it comes to money, I think it's reasonable to assume that employers are also biased against women when it comes to related areas such as job title.
Stop trying to Latrin up this thread with your Latrin bullshit.

Federal jobs don't have a wage gap, no. I GS-7 makes the same as a GS-7 regardless of age, sex, gender, etc. People could have made the argument that men are selected over women for promotion, but I just don't really see that as the case anymore.

I think we have found the confusion. You seem to have a case of self-entitlement (like so many others), you know the one "I got a degree, I deserve a job making 6 figures because that's what my high school counselor said"
Are you arguing over the 2% now, which is basically a statistical margin of error? or is it that you won't be happy until the scale tips in favor of women? I think we all know the answer to that.

The margin of error on that 2.7% was actually quite low given the 1.4 million people involved in the research. It's also with a huge number of controls applied. This is only 11.7% of the uncontrolled number, which is 23% though, which usually gets crowed about.

Unless you're suggesting men can find jobs easier that pay more/use their college degree compared to women and this is due to sexism. Because, like, that would be a great point but it would still be a totally different issue because it still wouldn't prove that women make less for doing the same job, it would show women aren't getting the same opportunities though due to their gender.I do not consider it a totally different issue, because they have the same cause and the same result: women getting less pay on the basis of being women. As such, it is not an additional variable that should be controlled for, but the same variable.
Suppose I sabotage your brakes and hire Home Depot to put an ice patch on your street. Each factor will make it harder for you to stop your car, yes? Each act was taken at my behest, yes? If we were trying to measure by what % your car's stopping power decreased due to me, it would make no sense to control for the surface of the road. In the same way, if we are trying to measure by what % women's compensations are decreased due to sexism, it makes no sense to control for the job titles they have if those job titles are given by the same employers that we know give unequal pay to equal job titles.
You don't have a degree in economics, do you?I do not. This is why I used the claims of the economists you and GS4Pirate cited, in the (vain) hope that you would not immediately disagree with yourselves. These things happen.
I think we have found the confusion. You seem to have a case of self-entitlement (like so many others), you know the one "I got a degree, I deserve a job making 6 figures because that's what my high school counselor said" I had no problem with the job I had then or the job I have now, my high school counselor did not make any claims on the compensation I could expect, and it wouldn't have mattered if he had because I didn't choose my degree until halfway through my freshman year of college. Your emotional sensitivity to this issue is apparently clouding your perception.
Are you arguing over the 2% now, which is basically a statistical margin of error? or is it that you won't be happy until the scale tips in favor of women? I've forgotten what this thread is about. Is it about the gag order on the D.C. Madam call logs?
The colorful litigator who represented the late “D.C. madam” Deborah Palfrey and threatened this week to release call logs of his former client that he says are “very relevant” to the 2016 presidential election tells U.S. News those records already are digitized and posted online.
Montgomery Blair Sibley says the records will become public if he fails to reset a 72-hour countdown clock, which could cut short his soft two-week ultimatum for federal courts to consider lifting a 2007 gag order that covers the records, lest he deem that order void.
The countdown clock is a safeguard, Sibley says, that ensures that if he disappears the records will be published. Inevitable release, he says, may also disincentivize violent acts against him to prevent their disclosure.

But now we are talking about promoting T & A, and that's a no, no. Let's face it, would you watch that shit if not for hot chic's jumping up and down?

Shut up, Latrin.

He didn't say anything other than what they'd already controlled for. It was deeper facepalm than normal.I think there has been a miscommunication. My point was not that the direct quotes I gave indicated a lack of control, but over control. Take the first quote:
"differential employer promotion standards due to gender differences in the probability of leaving"
Dollar compensation is affected by gender bias and job title (and many other factors).
In an attempt to obtain only the effect of gender bias, we control for job title (etc.).
But job title is also affected by gender bias.
So in controlling for job title we have undermeasured the effect of gender bias.
It is a permutation of the hidden variable problem: instead of A causing B and C and giving the mistaken impression that B and C are causally related, we have [A causing B and C] and [B causing C], giving the mistaken impression that A and C are not causally related.

In which we see Latrin disregard anybody's science other than that posted by himself... including that of people from more distinguished institutions and with far more of those pesky on subject degrees. Troll on buddy. No diggity, no doubt.

That'd be a no. It's up there with shifting events ten years in time to try to make a point. You telling way more qualified people that they over controlled is ridiculous.

If we would just take a moment to be honest with ourselves and not get our feels all in a twist. All these 'ism's really should be classified as a left over skill of survival from a distant time in our history. When our daily lives were filled with the constant tedium of surviving the next winter/dry season etc. The physically stronger out hunting/felling trees etc. and the more nurturing of the species tending to home camp. It's not like we had time to sit around and watch T.V. and shit, survival was a constant struggle. Our advancements in technology have reduced the demand in these natural skill sets (sadly in some cases), yet we are still left with that natural instinct to fulfill or use them.
Not to say that some of our social changes are not a good thing, women's rights, racism etc. but even in those cases they are a forced social construct that goes against our natural instinct. As a society we tolerate these changes to natural order only because technology makes it easy to do so, if modern society were to fail (collapse of the electrical grid or some shit), I assure you the use of these 'ism's would once again become common practice.
Social justice can only go so far in it's attempt at turning a duck into a goose.
(I don't know if any of this is true, but it sure sounds good)

You telling way more qualified people that they over controlled is ridiculous. That would be ridiculous, yes, but luckily it is not what I said. This is I think a useful moment for you: when you think a person is making a ridiculous error, the error may be your understanding of what that person said. In this case I have said five times that I agreed with the people you linked. Your interpretation is that I disagree with them. That interpretation is just wrong. You can claim I don't genuinely agree with them, or that I am mistaken in what they said, but it is absurd on its face to put the exact opposite of my words in my mouth.

(I don't know if any of this is true, but it sure sounds good)I heard from someone who seemed reliable that hunter gatherers actually had way more leisure time than we do now. Certainly technologically advanced societies are correlated with more advanced human rights throughout history, from the Fatimid Caliphate to the United States of Barack Obama's Caliphate, but I think you misattribute the causation. I don't think people tolerate change because technology makes it easier, but that technology makes it easier to force people to accept change. Every agrarian state outran its resources and collapsed, leading to sharp decline in the rights enjoyed by its former citizens, but technology did not suffer until much later if at all. It is only the industrial state that is stable, and thus can ensure rights in perpetuity.

Just stop Latrin and watch this fucking dude:There were no one person hunter gatherer groups. Certainly an individual trying to live that lifestyle would have probably zero leisure time and be shortly dead; perhaps this is why we invented the individual long after we invented the group. Anyway this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_affluent_society) isn't where I originally got my information but it might have been where the person who told me did, and I think it's a good read. Life is, has always been, and will always be a team sport. A group can do things unimaginable for an individual, and it would appear this is one of those things.

You criticized far more reputable data scientists for using too many controls. Now you're pretending you didn't. This is up there with you trying to switch events in time to try to pretend you're a historian. It's you finding fault with precisely the sort of study you've pretended to beg for elsewhere.

There's a reason I bothered to quote your "I agree with them BUT."I never said that. What I said was: "I agreed with your economists, and the many ways they stated unequivocally that women are discriminated against in ways we might inadvertently control for in an ill-advised attempt to only measure the "real" discrimination."
As I have reiterated many times, I have no problem with your economists' findings. Why should I? As we have agreed many times, I am not an economist. You are so trapped by your notion of how I behave that you literally read "and" as "but", and have absolutely refused to check the source material even while claiming that you are quoting me. Yikes! I would be concerned if I were you.

While simultaneously posting the thrust of your argument (that discrimination is worse than the numbers you make it clear you agree with suggest) you try to backhandedly praise the study. It's staggering that you miss this in service of a "gotcha." but not really.

It's staggering that you miss this in service of a "gotcha." but not really.Discrimination is exactly as bad as the numbers I agree with state (within statistical error), and that value is larger than the one you agree with because according to what is stated in the study you are over controlling. There's no gotcha here. You just misread the source, and have regrettably but not surprisingly reinforced that by misreading what I say about it.
