I've been researching this EDM stuff that Rubio likes. I don't care for it. His fondness for bad music makes me question his judgment in other matters.

Am I the only one who noticed Rubio's micro expression (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImXvxzxateg) when Cooper asked him if he had ever attended a "rave"? Something wasn't right about that answer. I'll look into it.

You don't have to have gone to a show to consider a particular type of music your favorite. It'd be more telling if Cooper asked who his favorite artists were and he couldn't think of any.

I would vote for him if he said he listened to Orange Goblin.

Images of Paul Ryan proclaiming his love for RAtM spring to mind, followed by Nivana's In Bloom playing in my mental sound track as he said it.

As promised, I've been looking into it. Here are some things I have found so far..

Did Rubio lie when he said he never attended a rave? Did he lie to Fallon when he said he attended only one "foam party"? You be the judge.

In 1995, Rubio claims he met his wife, Miami Dolphins cheerleader Jeanette Dousdebes at a "foam party" in South Beach. There is one thing wrong with Rubio's story: foam parties in South Beach were almost exclusively gay events held at gay clubs like "Warsaw Ballroom" and "Amnesia," the latter name befitting some of Rubio's memories of his time in Miami.

He was arrested one night in May 1990 for being in a crime-plagued public park after closing time, according to police records and an interview with a friend who was cited with Rubio that night.

The bayside park, named for the first woman to serve on the Miami City Commission, had been established in 1965 at the site of a dilapidated estate. It is flanked on three sides by ornate mansions and pricey condominiums. Madonna and Sylvester Stallone would own homes there in the early 1990s.

Despite the high-priced real estate nearby, the park had become a notorious locale in the late 1980s and early ’90s, a haven for drug dealers, prostitutes and gang members.

A local homeowners association’s newsletter documented the complaints of neighbors: “Gang warfare, gunfire, prostitution (straight and gay), drug dealing and muggings.” Police were attuned to the complaints because of a pattern of problems at the park, said Delrish Moss, a Miami police public information officer and a 32-year veteran of the department.

“It was very dark and had lots of trees,” he said. “People went out there to smoke illegal substances, have sex, drink.”

A full account of what led to Rubio’s arrest and the dismissal of the charge are not included in available public records. The court file has been destroyed, according to Miami-Dade County court clerk’s records.
