Default Guides by Whirlin: How to add the Gemstone Calendars to your Phone

    Requirements:
    1. Google or Exchange account
    2. Smartphone (Android/IOS/Windows)

Step 1a: Adding the calendar to your current account Directions for a google account:

First thing you're going to want to do is to head over to the Gemstone Calendar on the play.net page...
On the absolute bottom right hand corner of the calendar, there's a +GOOGLE CALENDAR button. Click on that.

It'll open up a link to your google calendar, and a prompt to toggle which of Gemstone's various calendars you want to add to your calendar. From there, you'll now have Simu's calendar integrated into your google calendar, with a different color scheme depending on which of simu's calendar(s) you've added.

Step 1b: Adding the calendar to your current account Directions for an Exchange account:

Unfortunately, I haven't found a way of completely circumventing this, so I'll just give you specific things to copy/paste if you don't have a google account.
    • If working on outlook.com... click on the navigation on the top left, and move to Calendars. From there, click on Import, and then Subscribe on the left navigation menu
    • If working on the Outlook app, go to file > Account settings > Account Settings > Internet Calendars and Select New

Outlook utilizes Google's ICAL calendar subscription system... Here are a few of the ICAL Links for your convenience and easier copy/pasting to feed into your outlook account:

Simple subscribe to the calendars you want, using those links!

Yay... now you should the Simu Calendars in your google/outlook account. That's 99.99% of the task!

    Step 2.a.a) iPhone & Google or Outlook.com

First, we need to make sure that you're actually pulling your calendars from your account,
    Navigate to Settings > Mail/Contacts/Calendars
From there, select your google/outlook.com account... or add it if you haven't? Why haven't you added it before this guide?
Make sure Calendars is clicked on.

If you're working off of a google account:
    Head to this website: www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect
Which will allow you set which calendars to share with the iphone

Open the calendars app on your iphone, and it will sync.

Congratulations, you now have gemstone calendars on your iphone... No need to worry about missing that wonderful Paupers Capped Warcamping event scheduled for 5/5 at 9:00 PM out of Illistim.

Step 2.a.b) IOS & Outlook Desktop App

If you're running the outlook App, and some sort of enterprise e-mail account, you'll need to hardwire in and run iTunes.
From there, select your device and click INFO. From there, you can select whether to sync contacts/calendars/etc.
Clicking apply will begin the Sync

Congratulations, you now have gemstone calendars on your iPhone or IOS device... No need to worry about missing that wonderful Paupers Capped Warcamping event scheduled for 5/5 at 9:00 PM out of Illistim.

    Step 2.b) Android:
Two steps... First, navigate into your accounts, and ensure that you're syncing calendars with your either google or outlook. Enable Background Data, Enable Auto-Sync are both on to keep it up to date.
Second, navigate over to your calendar application, and click the menu button > More > Calendars, and select the ones you want to keep syncing

Congratulations, you now have gemstone calendars on your Android Device... No need to worry about missing that wonderful Paupers Capped Warcamping event scheduled for 5/5 at 9:00 PM out of Illistim.

    Step 2.c) Windows Phone:

Previously, Google had enabled Exchange ActiveSync in order to regulate feeding of data from google accounts to Microsoft.
Google cried about Microsoft getting all the markets and turned it off, without offering a viable alternative... jerks.

As such, Win10 Phones can only sync calendars with an outlook accounts. Fortunately (or not), when you get a windows phone, all of your information is stored in your microsoft account. Every microsoft account has an account with outlook.com If you use the same account on your desktop (windows 10), you can just navigate to outlook.com, and it will automatically authenticate with your Microsoft account. From there, add the calendars as outlined in Step 1b, and they'll automatically flow to your windows phone. Sure, have to add it in both google and outlook.com... but just a few minutes to have the data there forever.

Congratulations, you now have gemstone calendars on your Windows Phone... No need to worry about missing that wonderful Paupers Capped Warcamping event scheduled for 5/5 at 9:00 PM out of Illistim.

Better hardware/$ than iPhone (no accomplishment there), and they're not a security cesspool like Android devices.

Good to know that they're not as lol-worthy with Win10. I live in Redmond, and I still see more iPhones and Androids in and around the MS campus, compared to WinPhones. Kinda sad. :/
