They must be doing something right.

Interestingly enough, ZeniMax, the buyer in question, just snagged $300 million from investors.

Impressive. HJ may never show up, but Simu isn't going down the tubes if they keep this up.

How many licenses is that now?

Two (public) total.

But two to top design companies. That's really impressive. Whoever decided to start putting energy into this was a smart person. And yeah, this pretty much means we can keep GS forever.

what cracks me up is that Whatley yet again gets to cash in on the (mostly) free work of others under the guise of developing a new game.

Whatley is a smart dude.

It's actually 5 total.

Bethesda, Bioware, and 3 semi no-namers (A World Of My Own, Stray Bullet Games out of Texas, Colony Studios in California)

Whatley is a smart dude.

no doubt.

Yes, I'm sure they went through all of that HJ development work, staff recruitment, staff training, and marketing (okay, so that last one isn't such a big deal) just so they could come up with a new game engine while simultaneously allowing them to let down an entire fan base. I mean, sure they could have just developed the game engine without all of that extra time, energy, and money, but then they wouldn't have had a chance to say "AHA! SCREW YOU PLAYERS! WE TRICKED YOU!".

Because everyone (on PC Forums) knows that is their real MO.

PS Get a life.

<3 Bethesda!

I got an early order version of AC for the 360 and still haven't cracked it open with how addictive GotY Oblivion has been (which I got like two days before.)

Trying to forage harrada on the Oblivion planes always scares me. I hate those damn roots. Jesus fuck though, I love this game.
