The black belt is an Essence Belt, which can be charged by DROPping specific alchemy ingredient essences into it to grant its bearer unique abilities. The belt will accept the following essences: air, earth, fire, water.
slot 1: fire (1000/1000)
slot 2: earth (960/1000)
slot 3: air (775/1000)
Once fueled, the active element can be set by WHISPERing to the belt with the name of the essence, which is currently set to air. The active element will determine the behavior of the belt's abilities.

The belt is currently tier 3 of 4, which means that it can accommodate up to 3 essence slots. An essence slot can be cleared via POKE, though this will remove all charges of that essence once confirmed. The belt currently has access to the following abilities: reactive flares, PUSH (resistance), PULL (attack strength bonus), RUB (special). It will also respond to the following verbs: TAP, TOUCH, TURN.

RAISE: makes the tome come alive and attack for you. Can only be activated if the tome contains at least 5 anima.
PUT: places a scroll in the tome, consuming it for anima (max 250). Uses syntax PUT {SCROLL} IN {TOME}.
TELL: select zest verbs from the following list, with syntax TELL {TOME} TO UNLOCK {VERB}.

ATTEND, FLIP, GAZE, HUG, LICK, PEER, POKE, PONDER, RUB, SQUINT, SMELL, TAP, THUMP, and TURN.

Tier 1 (Spellglider):

Can unlock up to 2 zests total.
Combat Action - Cruel Barb: Single-target SMR attack. Cost: 1 anima.

Tier 2 (Spellwarden):

Can unlock up to 4 zests total.
PULL: creates a WRITEable parchment. Cooldown: 15 mins.
Combat Action - Tactical Tutelage: Grants +5 DS / +3 TD per tier for 1 min every 5 mins. Cost: 3 anima.

Tier 3 (Spellweaver):

Can unlock up to 6 zests total.
WRITE: Write a message of 900 characters or less in the tome.
THROW: Sends a cross-realm message to the target with syntax THROW {TOME} AT {PLAYER}.
Combat Action - Harsh Lesson: AOE SMR attack against up to 5 foes. Cost: 1 anima per target.

Tier 4 (Spellvault):

Can unlock up to 8 zests total.
ATTUNE: Selects 1-3 random combat spells for which the tome becomes a scroll. Cooldown: 1 day.
Combat Action - Booklash: If owner is incapacitated in combat, performs a Major Elemental Wave. Cost: 30 anima. Cooldown: 1 hour.

Tier 5 (Spellsanctum):

Can unlock up to 10 zests total.
GO: Enters private sanctum with mail capabilities. Cost: 25 anima.

Additional customizations: alterers can change the 15/15/15s of parchments produced by this tome.
