Anyone questioning about the few ranks in Brawling - figure I'd like for him to have some parry DS if he has to put his weapon away or if he gets disarmed. Also, it helps aid in building up redux. 6 ranks of Brawling equates to 132 MTP used. I could certainly, instead, work on training up Dodge to help boost redux and eventually DS, but 132 MTP only gets me 2 ranks of Dodge.
Dodge ranks provide 20 redux points each rank; 2 ranks of Dodge gives me 40 Redux points
Brawling ranks provide 15 redux points each rank; 6 ranks of Brawling gives me 90 Redux points.
As you can see, if I moved to 2 ranks of Dodge I'd lose out on 50 Redux points. My goal is to build up as high of a redux as I can and with Dodge costing so much it's just a skill I'm deciding to leave for post-cap while I slowly sink points into Brawling to give me more of a beneficial return on my training points; empty handed parry DS and redux points.
In other words; I'd have to put 10 ranks into Dodge (500 Redux points) to equal 34 ranks of Brawling (510 Redux points), I'd much rather have 34 ranks in Brawling over 10 ranks of Dodge by the time I cap.
