Why did these pagers have explosives in them to begin with? I thought it was some sort of suicide bombing thing but that explosion doesn't seem big enough for that.

And how did Israel get them to explode? Were these bombs designed to go off if the pager got a page so Israel just paged them all at the same time?

The people of Lebanon and Beirut specifically are tired of war, and Hezbollah is really more of an unwelcome guest, but one that has a million rockets. If your pager just blew up on your leg, you just got called out and labeled a terrorist.

I think yeah it wasn't meant or capable to kill them all. It was more like a message. The people of Lebanon and Beirut specifically are tired of war, and Hezbollah is really more of an unwelcome guest, but one that has a million rockets. If your pager just blew up on your leg, you just got called out and labeled a terrorist.
