Perfectly measured and hewn, the wood has been enhanced by a clear resin so as to preserve the decorative saw-blade grain that is inherent in the villswood structure. The grip is bound in rolaren wire to match the braided rolaren wire by which the bow is strung. The upper limb is curiously fitted with a hinge and pin where it meets the grip, presumably allowing the bow to be folded over for easier storage and transport.
