They are required to have a higher ASVAB score than those with Diploma/GED.

A minimum of 30 on an ASVAB isn't stellar.

Also... I said there are some great people without HS diplomas... but making it the standard to not require, as opposed to the rarity, is not a good step.

You know they actually found Sarin in Iraq, not in great quantities and the Military has tried to cover it up to keep from admitting it and to keep from paying out on the injuries.

We also know he did use poison gas on the Kurds.

The idea really was to establish a second Democracy in the Middle East and it's done ok, short of us abandoning them over and over. Maybe if we quit abandoning these projects around the world we might have less issues and people might not see us as such short term quitters. Also might help to beat back China, which will be our next proxy war since Russia turned out to be largely toothless though that being called out makes them much more dangerous in the big picture since they do indeed have nukes.

The ASVAB was among the easiest tests I've ever taken.

I'm trying to be considerate in my description of obtaining a 30 on the ASVAB. There are a lot of good people that aren't particularly book smart, so I'm not trying to disparage them... but the ASVAB is like a 6th grade level test, that any competent person should be able to max out on.

Again, a lot of good people don't have HS diplomas... but not requiring one as the standard, versus the rarity, is only going to reduce the effectiveness of the Service.

It is easy, but they require a 50+ for people with no GED/Diploma, and only a 31 for those with it.

I don't care how hard or easy the test is to get into the military. People volunteer for the military for a number of reasons, and I honestly can't think of a bad one off the top of my head. So long as they are trained properly and mentally stable and can pass a basic test, good for them.
