It's a copy of the statue in DC, the Emancipation Memorial, so I'm curious to see if they're going to try to change that one, too. If the Boston statue is removed, it'll be replaced with a more modern take on the situation. The petition was mostly just offended that it portrayed a black man in chains kneeling at Lincoln's feet -- thought it sent the wrong image. If it does get changed, the current one had better go to a museum, because it's from the 1870s.
